He destroyed property. He's no better than the morons who topple statues because they were offended.

If you’re poking someone with a stick don’t be surprised when they get mad .

You don't actually understand what you're saying do you?

Five grand to rent a balloon? I doubt if any sane person would pay that much to rent a balloon. Maybe I should go into the political balloon rental business and start renting out balloons. I wonder what the value of the balloon actually was? Maybe those people who gofunded the event used most of the money to buy them and their friends lunches and drinks. Maybe doughnuts and coffee venders got their prize money too.

Yeah and the members of the Boston tea party should rot in hell !!!!!

Don’t try to rationalize your point again they are one in the same .

They were both an act of defiance .

Keep in mind the guys that wrote the bill of rights approved of the Boston tea party’s actions. They were called Patriots .

I’ll take their opinion .

Hat’s off Hoyt do what needs to be done and be willing to take the consequences!

So you're ok with destruction of property?

Right on cue. Lmfao.

Seriously, he shouldn’t have laid a finger on the balloon. It’s not his property, it’s like slapping a MAGA hat off of someone, it’s childish behavior.

So it’s a baby representing Trump, big deal, at least it is funny and even cute. Let them unwittingly parade around more advertisements for Trump.

Slapping a MAGA hat off someone is physical assault.

Popping nerd balloons is funny.

That was my favorite part. These morons actually paid someone for the privilege of putting their immature idiocy on display. Capitalism!

I view that what Hoyt did was to express himself.

Was the Boston tea party an act of senseless destruction or was it a statement ?

It’s a double edge sword .

Ummmm, I'm having a hard time equating the two. Because, by your reasoning then, Antifa has justification for burning cars, damaging property and harming people.

That's not free expression.

Eventually you'll hit microaggressions.

But those feels..

I just see it as two separate things. That balloon which is childish and petty just needs a little duct tape slapped on it and it's ready for the next hate rally. Statues are monuments to our history and people should be offended if they are toppled or removed.

If the balloon was childish and petty, which I think it is, then any serious attention to it only elevates the importance to it.

Hence the thread? Or the comments in it?

Who is expending more energy here? Probably me. It's hard work chuckling this hard.

Is tearing up trump signs and banners just a case of self expression?

Yes. But this doesn't pop our balloons as hard.
