Well that was a trip from Hell. Leaving the green zone we had to bail out of the Suburban because of gunfire and I busted my ankle and "buckled my tibia" ( don't ask ). A few more weeks in the cast left. Oh well. I do have some pictures of Sadams palace and Baghdad. I guess the upload is still down.

Everyone, these kids over there really need support. You need not support the effort going on but honestly these are really mostly citizen soldiers from the Guard and Reserve, seemingly most of them in their teens and above all homesick. They honestly believe in their job and many have the feeling that others don't care. I did write an email when I got home today commenting to the guys how many people here in the U.S. have the support our troops ribbons on their cars and that we do care but I suppose people have become complacent after the holidays.

Anyway, good to be home. Hope all is well with everyone on ATS.

John

Welcome home!!! Michigan, am I right?
At least you're back in one piece...more or less.
Casts are no fun, the time will pass in no time.

If nothing else, at least the country is being good to their soldiers, not like 30 years ago.

Indeed, God bless the troops.

I can tell you, at least I am grateful for your service.

I uploaded a few pictures to one of the MOD's. I have so many more but my hub is not working and need to either put them on my laptop or figure out whats wrong with my pc.

As for the question of a buckled tibia. I bent my shin..........litterally. It didnt break but bent. Its a bit like taking a green twig and pushing down and bending at the same time.

One of them is from my hotel room in the Green Zone. The other is some of the damage around it. The last is of an A10 that came back with battle damage. I have more but have to fix my usb hub. Not sure whats wrong with it but none of my usb hardware will connect.

Welcome home!

He's right. We should be doing all we can to support our men and women serving over there, regardless of whether you were for or against the invasion.
