Lost my auntie today
Found her in the cat food aisle
She was always there

I could do all my shopping and go back to the pet food aisle and she still, still hadn’t chosen what cat food she wanted to give her bloody cats, still...
Made the worst coffee I have ever tasted, put the milk in first because “it tastes better this way”
Bailed me out of remand and never questioned me
Took me in when I was directionless and kicked me out when she saw I needed to get out because I needed to find my own direction
Made me Bury 4 cats and 4 dogs in random places over 20 years and then expects me to know what cat/dog was buried where

Told me she loved me when I felt unlovable, crazy old Catholic cat lady

Don’t forget to tell someone you love them, don’t forget to love someone

Sorry for your loss, my condolences sir.
Liked reading your post, life is so....at times.
I haven't the word to finish that sentence, it's subjective to the reader.
I hope you find comfort in your lasting memories.
Your last two sentences ring the truest of all for those who can hear it.

Yeah cool, no stars no flags please, it’s not about that
Hate that

Thanks Gravel, there is no comfort, thanks anyway

Go love someone not ion the Internet, go call in on your mum
See your dad
Star and flag, don’t be a internet meme, go call in on someone you think might need you

I called in and visited my aunt 2 days ago, hugged her, kissed her and told her I loved her, she did the same.
She won’t go into an old age home, won’t suffer dimentia, she got out easy

I am bitching because I lost someone I loved, who loved me

Go love someone, they will love that

Sorry man... You get em anyways.

Sorry for your loss brother. I think my worst fear is dying alone. You were there and that's what counts.

Dying alone

Yeah for a while this evening I thought about that, I still will soon but, I am thinking about those who are thinking of dying alone now

Remedy, care, love, care more, love more
No matter how much money you die with, they will remember the love you gave

I will be at Northlands Balcatta in a week or twos time and bang it hits me
Cat food aisle
Always bought Almond chocolate bars because it disguised the taste of crap coffee

She knew exactly where she was, she probably stays there looking at cat food so she does not have to follow you around and listen to you complain about the rising costs of food or how great the sale price is on something bad for your diet. No arguing about all the super prepared food you eat, or if you are a health nut, she might dislike your choices and wind up arguing with you. I learned this long ago, you do not get old without learning to not be hanging around in stores with your kids...It is too stressful. I do not care to go shopping with the daughters and granddaughter.. They keep trying to talk me into buying food or supplies I don't really want.

I went shopping with my daughter years ago and she talked me into buying a necklace for my wife for Christmas, it was a hundred twenty bucks. It now hangs on a peg with twenty other gold necklaces, most of which make that look like a toy and cost way less when we bought them.

I go shopping with the wife most times, if something ever happens to her, I will go once every two months shopping with someone from the Senior center or order online and have them deliver. At any point of time, we have enough food in the house to feed fifteen people for three months. It is all rotated properly.

I am assuming your aunt is not dead, just that you lost her in the store? That is what I got out of the OP. Or did she die in the cat food aisle today?

You have my sympathies. May she rest in peace.

And every time you go by the places you buried her animals, your memory of her will come to the fore. As one member here stated, it doesn't get any easier.

Sorry for your loss. Losing someone is some of the worst pain a person can feel.

Don’t forget to tell someone you love them, don’t forget to love someone

Wise words.

Sorry to hear of your loss Raggedyman. She must have been a special aunt to take you in when you were ‘directionless’.. and you must have special memories of her.

May she rest in peace.

I'm sorry for your loss as well. I'm from a small family, so when I lose someone it's a big piece of what makes me.... me.

Stay strong!

I am so sorry for your loss, Raggedyman!

And great advice here...

Don’t forget to tell someone you love them, don’t forget to love someone

Way too often, we wait to tell someone they were loved, don't let ourselves love until it is too late, or put off interacting with them...figuring there is always tomorrow.
And there isn't always a tomorrow.
