I don't care about right wing or left wing politics or tactics. I would love Trump if labor in this country made some real

Trumps biggest public policy achievement so far has been the 2017 tax cuts. Once again we find trickle down Reagonomics just NEVER works....

Well it looks like the independent website has done it's homework well.

As for the, 'trickle down' it's right to say that overall it doesn't work...I'm not even sure that it is meant to, while there will be some big business that will abide by the sentiment, most don't.

do you just love being ratio'd daily here? Once Trump was elected back in 2016, all you Liberals claimed the sky was going to fall and everything was going to crash... Similar to everything, you guys were wrong... Just wrong all the time... Its truly remarkable..

Can we just talk about the effect of Trump's tax breaks for corporations and what they were supposed to do. Thanks.

I'm sorry, you exposed your agenda in the OP's first paragraph. It is just another pathetic, attempted REEEEE to bash Trump, as much as you try to spin it about being 'for the workers'.

I don't care about right wing or left wing politics or tactics. I would love Trump if labor in this country made some real gains for a change. All I care about is labor. But even though I hear how much Trump is going to make this country white again (MAGA), it doesn't seem to help the people voting for Trump.

I know I ignored anything posted in the OP after this comment(as I am sure many others did going by replies) as it was obviously written by a partisan hack with an agenda.

Now you insinuate anyone not taking your thread seriously is being an ignorant partisan, which is exactly what you were in the opening paragraph.
This is SOP of #resist.

And yet, besides all that boasting about "share holder values" and "wallstreet gets big buck$$$" and "my company makes so much more money" and "MY stocks are skyrocketing!"

- the gini-index of the USofA is comparable to Argentina. Or Russia.

Remember, OP did not ask about your personal story.

OP did say that the economic inequality has risen to new heights under Trump. And that: is a fact.

This type of a post belongs on Quora, where you can find more intellectuals. ATS is entertainment.

Yet here you are every day forcing us to witness your mental illness first hand.
I’ve never met a Liberal that didn’t think they were the smartest person in the room and when faced with real facts, folded like a cheap suit.
The only entertainment on ATS is the unhinged Liberals like yourself.

Oh but Open Boarders does work? All the people coming in are competing for the low skilled jobs driving down wages for the most needy in our or any country. Trickle down could work if you didnt have millions of illegals competing for the same low paying jobs as American citizens. The less people competing for jobs means higher wages!

It might be more prudent to change the title to "Some" US workers, because everyone I've spoken with is enjoying the tax cuts and extra cash in their bank. So it's clearly doing some good for some of us, no policy benefits everyone.

The Gini Index? You mean the fancified Lorentz Curve?

That is about the poorest way to measure a country's economy that exists today. A perfect score of 0 on the Gini scale means the country is stagnant and about to collapse.

Remember, OP did not ask about your personal story.

The economy is the summation of all these "personal stories." Ergo, a cross section of "personal stories" becomes a decent indicator of economic satisfaction among the public.

OP did say that the economic inequality has risen to new heights under Trump. And that: is a fact.

Maybe it has. So what?

That information would only matter to someone who was more concerned with the finances of others than with their own finances. For most people, I daresay being able to pay the bills this month is much, much more important than whether some rich guy can pay his bills this month. I know I really don't care about whether or not Michael Bloomberg can afford a new yacht... I care about whether I can afford a new car.

True happiness lies in not getting caught up in everyone else's life. Who cares if George Soros is lighting a fire with $100 bills? They're not mine... none of my business. I only care about the other guy's finances when the other guy owes me money and doesn't pay up. And from where I sit, the Trump economy is doing just fine, thank you very much.

Maybe you should consider that.

As for the, 'trickle down' it's right to say that overall it doesn't work...I'm not even sure that it is meant to, while there will be some big business that will abide by the sentiment, most don't.

"Trickle-down economics" does work, and works well, in certain cases. In other cases it does not.

If you reduce the tax burden on, say GM, it won't trickle anywhere. That's because GM already has achieved market saturation. Everyone knows who they are and what kind of cars they make, and everyone is already able to find and buy a GM product. Advertising does nothing for GM outside of PR maintenance; it won't bring in a single additional customer. Expanding plants would be a waste of money... they already manufacture as many cars as they can sell. Hiring more people would also be a waste of money, for the same reason.

If you reduce the tax burden on Jim's Furniture, a (fictional) home-based cabinet shop, the money will trickle down. Jim will likely use it to upgrade equipment, meaning sales to the equipment manufacturer and thus more work for the workers who make the equipment. He might advertise with some of it, bringing in more customers... not everyone has yet heard of him. If business picks up because he is advertising more, he will have to hire more people and add more equipment, and all of that will trickle down.

Now here's the thing that goes along with that: Jim's employees will be making more money (especially those who he just hired), but so will Jim! If you're worried about the Lorentz Curve (or Gini Index, or whatever it's called this day), it will look worse. Jim is not going to go hungry so his employees can afford more toys! It's his business and he's going to get his portion of those profits. But the employees are still doing better than before... the money has trickled down. It simply multiplied as it trickled, so yes, Jim will do a lot better.

There is no known method to bankrupt a business owner without also bankrupting those who work for them. This dream of the workers making big bucks while the owner has to live on Ramen Noodles and Vienna Sausages is a pipe dream. It can't happen... it's a fantasy only.

People need to grasp that one concept.

Why is it Pres. Trump's policy that has failed?

The "policy" that created and allowed a private bank to control the printing of US. "currency", (I.O.U.s), establish "Credit" (dept), "lown" "money" (which it is not money) to the government, created the issues we are facing today.

But you're a private citizen and have "no standing" to complain.

Three presidents so far, in American history have tried to fix the mess we're in. But they kiiled all three of them. The last one being J.F.K.

Pres. Trump is doing the best he can with the mess he inherited.

23 trillion in debt. And that's just the lack of cash. Not to mention the interest payment on $23 trill.

There' roughly $222 trillion in unfunded socialist bs programs. According to the CBO. Global GDP is almost as much as US unfunded programs.

Some perspective:
Pay $1 dollar a second just to payback $1 trillion. Would take over 31,700 years. That's not including interest. Try $222 trill.

For the last 100 years in the US. There has been no honesty with our money.
Just bad "policy".

It is not Trumps fault. No more than it is B.O.'s.

The generations before us really dropped the ball. Falling for "new deal" "ss" "printing currency" instead of actual MONEY.

There really is no way out of the U.S. financial mess other than socialism. Which I believe, was the ends justifying the means. They have already been preaching it, "everybody must pay their share". Share of what? Indentured servitude?. And the libs suck it up like a dry sponge. Because they are mentaly twisted, envious, lazy, morally bankrupt sheep.
Not to mention, a vast majority of them are in debt to their eyeballs with "education" propaganda that has hardly any real life application. And they want everyone else to "bail them out". Because they have this vast "knowledge" that will be used for the good of global humanity! Or they'll just become a politician or a protester. Aiming there ignorance at common people that just want to be left alone and have no part of their "global order".

They gave up freedom for temporary safety. The very thing Ben. Franklin warned us about. The U.S.A really has no choice now, but to become a socialist enclave.
We were given a Republic. But we could not keep it. It's really sad. It was paid for with blood. But there was no "interest".

Trump's "policy" has to work within an already established policy. There's nothing he can do about it. It's not his fault.

If you want an economy/job-market that fails the working class, elect Warren or Sanders.

People talk about "trickle down" not working, but we see it work with lower unemployment, higher salaries (et al)

And they even argue against their own defense of it not working when they stated that tariffs were impacting consumers.

What affects the business impacts not only the employees but the people purchasing the product(s) as well.

It really doesn't matter who gets into office at this time. They're trying to smear and impeach who (by law) was put into office.
Trump is holding up the agenda!
The "job market" is going to collapse soon. Especially if Warren or Sanders gets "in".

But if you want an economy, ie (people buying stuff) then by LAW, leave more money in their hands. We need to revamp the tax code. Or at least make people understand the current one.
The Fed Reserve needs it's charter revoked and real money needs to be reestablished as currency. This passing around I.O.U.s as "currency", obviously isn't working.

Lets be honest the Obama admin and liberals their whole plans were to kill or slow down jobs like construction, coal, mines etc.
Replacing them with the laughable "Green Energy" which really doesn't mean that you will have a job as a solar worker or wind operator for the wind turbines as they are automated once they turned on.

This "trickle down" ideology needs to stop! The government works for us!
It should only trickle up! Were does the government, in this "Constitutional Republic", come off with this Idea that my/our labor is worth X amount?
And they so graciously "allow" us each year, to "exept" ourselves from a certain amount of our labor/work/time we'll never get back/"wages" to pay for the time we worked?

Our "employees" (government) are over $200 trillion in debt! I didn't make those decisions! What exactly are they "controlling?

The fact that they want to "trickle down" anything to you? Should make you angry and think. If government has the control to stop it? They have the control to let it happen. How dare the servants trickle anything!

When we give "freedom" any other name, such as "trickle". The libs will beat us with our own nomenclature and ideology. It shouldn't be called "trickle down" it already belongs to us.

The economics would control itself. It doesn't need control if we dealt in real money. But then the government (employees) wouldn't get their cut. Hmmm? They should've got a real job.

Our government sucks.

Our economy is constantly restricted by government.

Government should just go back to repairing roads, delivering mail and supporting the military.

That's is what I said pretty much.

I have studied economics, what you say comes under the area of marginal satisfaction, AKA the point when a product is at saturation point. However GM, Ford and all the others like they are are adaptive, and the big tax breaks were pitched their way, not the in between man, or the little man like, "Jim" and, they already had their own product plans in place as part of their long term adaptations, some that does not even include the US.
That needs to be paid for, and in a ten year plan someone has to cough up, and it won't be the big guys.
Apart from that, it's probably only getting near the fiscal time this winter, to be even calculate even the hard facts when tax returns are made when the last fiscal year showed that the very rich were the winners.

They had to pair union membership with income inequality to show the economy is bad.... LOL.

Union membership may be down because more and more people are realizing that paying union dues to get Democrats elected is a lose-lose situation for them.

Meanwhile, we have more Americans employed now then in any other time in history, unemployment numbers are at record lows for women, minorities and the handicapped.

Wages are steadily rising at record highs as well, with the biggest gains being the lowest wage earners.

We have more jobs in America than we have workers.

Between Trump's tax cuts and cutting regulations we are doing just fine.

So your OP is BS.

Every time I want to comment on a topic lately, you hit all my bullet points and them some and do it so eloquently and completely I might just have to say see Lumenari when I want to reply.

I couldn't agree more.

The stock market is doing all right even though the Democrats are trying to sabatoge everything Trump does to boost the Economy. He has a real battle to get the economy fixed fighting the left at every corner. I am actually impressed that he has got what he got done, the Democratic import states want Chinese people to make everything so they can profit on importing the stuff. We need to start making more of the things our citizens need here in America and dump this consumer based economy the Liberals think is the cats meow.
