See, you are only focusing on leaders killing people, but the real question is... how many people from a socialist utopia has died from famine?

We've been under socialism in the U.S. since 1913, with the creation of the socialist Federal Reserve Bank, which is not federal and has no reserves. A fed member named Precott Bush helped fund Hitler and Nazi (National Socialist) Germany's rise to power, which led to FDR suspending our constitution through Emergency War Powers, known as the NDAA today. We've been in continuous war since 1933, even though Congress has not declared war since 1942. Every war & economic downturn since 1913 has been caused by the Federal Reserve bank. We do not have free markets, everything from gold/silver to stocks/bonds to gas/oil to currencies/crypto-currencies and everthing inbetween is artificially manipulated by the Federal Reserve Bank. Nicmxon took us completely off the Gold Standard in 1971. The U.S. dollar has lost @ 95% of its value since 1971.

Corporate bailouts, corporate tax breaks, government subsidies and fractional Reserve banking are all forms of socialism. For every $100 deposited in the bank $90 more are created out of thin air. This is known as inflation of the money supply. The more dollars created the less they're worth. This socialist Ponzi scheme has been growing exponentially larger as time goes on. If new debt is not issued the whole system collapses. As of right now the Federal Reserve bank is creating between 50 to 100 billion dollars per day to keep the banks afloat & these numbers are growing larger by the day. Once costs are too high people will revolt against government, regardless of which side they're on. We can see this happening in France, with the Yellow Vest protests, which have been going on for over a year now due to a green tax on fuel.

By 1837 Andrew Jackson (Democrat), had removed something like 47,000 on the Trail of Tears at least 4,000 died.
Woodrow Wilson (Progressive Democrat) was President during WW1, 116,708 military lost their lives.
FDR (Progressive Democrat) said hold my beer during WW2, and aimed towards 420,000 by some estimates including American civilians.
Trueman feeling left out used two Atomic bombs and got us into Korea for another 36,000+ but was only President for that first year.

One very well known Senator (that was so well liked that It was very hard to win a seat in Congress without his endorsement) called the FDR/Trueman Show, 20 years of Treason.

“As a nation, we began by declaring that 'all men are created equal.' We now practically read it 'all men are created equal, except negroes.' When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read 'all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics.' When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretense of loving liberty – to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocrisy.” ― Abraham Lincoln, Lincoln Letters

Yes because what you see on google tells the truth.

Blood is on the hands of every powerful nation throughout history.

I bet you'd love to sit down with a nice cup of joe or pint and discuss colonialism and American imperialism, or American native genocide and all that those fun times thousands of native american cchildren were sent off to residential schooling.

Still doesnt change the fact of what China has accomplished.

And what about the other nations I mentioned?

Wow! So Wilson and Roosevelt and Truman are directly responsible for all American deaths in WWI and WWII?

That’s a perspective I guess.

Nope. The US is a mixed economy and always has been.

Socialism cannot work without death and destruction of the populace because it requires forcing everyone to participate. Socialism does not allow for any dissent, freedom of choice, etc.

What is ironic to me is that the very people in the US who sing socialism's praises are usually the first people lined up and shot under these regimes. The academics and intellectuals.

Many of the problems in the US are because we've been on a slow creep leftward. Name a problem and you will see at it's roots government interference often under the guise of trying to fix some form of inequality, injustice, etc.

Nordic countries are not socialist. They have some socialist programs but the reality is the reason they appear to work (which is also debatable) is that their populations are largely homogenized with a similar culture and expectations. Not too mention small populations. Some of these countries barely have the population of Manhattan.

The US is far too large and diverse culturally.

The US is and has been a mixed economy. Very little about our economy can be said to be socialist.

Socialism and capitalism are ideologies. Neither are practical in any sort of real world setting.

Totalitarian and authoritarian are two sides of the same coin. Anytime the power is put in the hands of one institution, you have problems because absolute power corrupts and you know it.

A centralized state is absolute power. It doesn't matter if the power is the hands of one or a leviathan group of bureaucrats, the end result is the same. The system insulates and protects corruption and leaves the individual no recourse to escape its reach so abuses are compounded.

I can't believe you just typed that.

Capitalism is a description of what happens in all societies, even those that are communist and socialist where it is ostensibly illegal.

it's the free exchange of goods and services to mutual benefit between persons. It's not an ideology; it's an important tool of survival for all societies.

Capitalism, i.e. the free market, is an ideal. It is not and has never been practiced in fact.

Aren’t you an economics expert? Sad.

You just aren’t very careful in the accuracy of the language used in your posts, are you?

Totalitarian means dictatorship, despotism, tyranny. See Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc.

Authoritarian means supporting government authority and control at the expense of personal freedom.

Everything government is by definition authoritarian.

Ideas do not kill people. The death toll of every idea is exactly 0. These sort of arguments are merely pathetic attempts to demonise ideas without discussion of the merits of them.

By this logic I can blame capitalism for the literal billions suffering in abject poverty globally.

Exactly.

Here is an excellent video on how Taxi driver's in Cuba can earn more in a day than a Doctor can in a day. It shows how capitalism still works even under the boot of socialism because people will find a way to hustle regardless of what the state says is legal or not.

The summary, socialism works so bad that people are doing underground capitalism...

Claims that any modern economy is purely socialist or capitalist is ridiculous.

Every slightly successful modern economy that can be pointed to is a mixed economy.

Many of these err on the side of government control versus economic freedom.

Capitalism isn't greed, humans are greedy. In socalisim, you see greed in a worse form: covetousness, wanting other people's stuff.
The argument about capitalism promoting greed is inherently flawed.
