99.9% of the claims here are set aside by the fact that impeachment is not a trial.

I KNOW, that is what is repeated ad nauseam by the followers of the true religion of liberalism - to justify the stance of guilty until proven innocent - to justify no exculpatory evidence allowed in an inquiry seeking the "truth?" - to justify secrecy - to justify every anti-American thing that is happening behind closed doors with no attorneys allowed, with no opposition allowed to speak.

That is why any US citizen with an ounce of intellect will not believe any transcript released of what happened during that period of time. It can't be trusted because while doing a supposed inquiry into the truth, only evidence of guilt was allowed to be presented.

Trial is in the Senate.

Yada yada, it's hilarious you expect US citizens to be so stupid as to think an "official inquiry" that allows no evidence for the person accused is in any way, shape or form an honest inquiry, that will reveal any sort of truth. OR That the people using proverbial Spanish Inquisition/Inquiry methods are in any way, shape or form, fair, or just, or honorable.

Neither do you my friend, neither do you. You only speak for the devout followers of the progressive/liberal/left/Democratic Party.

But actually, I think I speak for about 60 million Americans who voted for Trump and can see a sham Spanish Inquisition style inquiry for what it is. I think I also speak for those who support Trump but for whatever reason didn't go to the polls in 2016, but may be motivated by the Inquisition (since it isn't a trial) to go to the polls this time around.

I don't claim to speak for Americans; your posts do so regularly.

You're chanting absurd talking points. Kinda boring actually.

You are so right about saying the same talking points over and over and over, so we are done going on about this.

Yes, I claim to speak for people who support Trump and are revolted by the Inquisition that has been ongoing for basically 3 years, since the first one failed (Mueller), so a second behind closed doors, private, secret, dungeon like Inquisition was begun.

At least I don't engage in the liberal mantra/chant "It's not a trial" ad nauseum.

Your posts make the same dull arguments every time you type.

The other posters don’t understand you, they don’t have reading comprehension, they’re leftists, they’re this they’re that.

Your posts are a study in fallacious argument.

Hun.

Hmmm, you don't say the same things over and over, do you

But I will, gleefully, to stay on topic.

The current Congressional Inquisition (since it isn't a trial) is a travesty of all the values held dear by those who believe in equal justice under the law, fairness, and innocent until proven guilty. That is my opinion.

A few examples of the ludicrous material posted by you:

Comparing the impeachment to the Spanish Inquisition. At least Google it before you post such hyperbolic nonsense.

Displaying a severe lack of understanding making ridiculous claims about House procedures established by Republicans themselves in 2015.

Claiming dishonestly that that the Republican members of these Committees are not allowed to speak.

Can't you make any points without this fallacious BS?

Repeating the spurious nonsense that you speak for anyone other than yourself.

After reading all your posts, I can see you are such a devout follower of progressive/liberalism/Democratic Party; that anyone who dares to challenge your point of view is insulted, and generally treated with contempt. At least that is how I have read many of your posts in this thread. Anyone who dares to say the inquiry is other than fair, just, above board, and completely free from fault appears to be reacted to with personal insults rather than discourse on the subject.

I won't list all the very personal insults you have thrown at others just in this thread alone.

I have attempted to explain how I feel the inquisition is unfair, unjust, and blatantly anti-American values in my opinion, and I'm sad that it appears to enrage you. So much so that any further discourse would be unproductive at this point and will be boring for the readers of the thread. To whom I apologize to for getting sucked into dragging this on so long.

You apparently live in such a tiny world where everything is Democrat or Republican. Sad.

Aside from that your posts in this discussion have been clearly demonstrated as dishonest, exaggerating and ill-informed ... So frankly why should I care what you think.

Make a substantive argument based on something other than this specious nonsense if you want further interaction.

Finally, somewhat back on point of thread!

I will agree with you that the Dems are gleefully making use of the 2015 republican policy change that they decried about back then as unfair and McCarthyism! It does seem a tit for tat issue. they apparently have decided they like that policy change after all.

In researching, it does seem that the DOJ dropped the ball here in not taking the whistleblower complaint serious enough to create a special counsel. Thus, now, Schiff is able to take on this dual role as committe chair and like Starr...Prosecuting Investigator role.

Sigh. I don't think this is good for our country and is a waste of our tax payer funds. Yet, it is what it is and we all will just have to sit back and enjoy the show. Praying at election 2020, Americans vote and send a message to DC that enough is enough. Partisan politics is not what our country needs.

We cant indict a sitting president of a crime, the impeachment process is the best we can do, at least till he leaves office. And, the whites house lawyers seem to be arguing in the courts that he cant be investigated to determine if he committed a crime if hes suspected of committing one.
And, some republican was on tv demanding the president get the same due process rights as everyone else? Does the suspected drug dealer, the suspected murderer, the suspected rapist, burglar, does any suspected criminal get to have lawyers involved in the investigative process? Does he get to know who the prosecutors star witnesses are prior to being indicted and the process of discovery starts?
His due process rights begin after the house votes to impeach, lists the charges, and sends it over to the senate. Till then. I highly advise the republicans not tell us that he deserves the same rights as everyone else!! Because he is already getting far better treatment and rights than any of us would get!!

I’m not surprised by anything psychopaths do, and all politicians are psychopaths in my book.

Perhaps the DOJ dropped the ball, perhaps they were covering for Trump because they’ve gotten away with it.

It’s not good for our country. It’s more of the same divides et impera we’ve seen for years.

I believe the only questions they were discouraged from asking had to do with the identity of the whistleblower which is protected by law.
If you are aware of another line of questioning that was quashed please tell us what that was.

The power of the Executive has been regularly expanded for almost 200 years, but particularly in the last 80 or so.

We need a Supreme Court that will re-establish the Constitutional limits on the power (and size) of the Executive Branch.

Post haste.

The President should deal with foreign policy and leave the domestic piece to Congress as the Constitution outlines, the power creep of the office is absurd.
