When discussing a bill being put forward that aborted fetal remains should be treated with respect. One Democratic lawmaker said this.

youtu.be...

Democrat Ullman said. "I think we all understand the concept of the loss of a fetus, but we're also talking about a woman who comes into a facility and is having cramps and — not to be — not to be — concrete — an early miscarriage is just some mess on a napkin, and I'm not sure people would agree that this is something that we would want to take to the point of ritual, either cremation or interment."

I knew that the Democratic Party stance was that abortion should be legal at any stage of development, even if the owner of the uterus and the fetal tissue are healthy and the fetal tissue is viable and can live independent of the host. But this is a step too far for me to say that human fetal remains deserve no dignity or respect and should be considered trash.

A "clump of cells isn't life". Says the pro choice scientists.

A "clump of cells found on Mars" is LIFE by all scientists!

Some people just have dark souls, Ullman is one of them.

If they show the remains respect it weakens their position that it is okay to kill and discard human beings at a whim. It goes against everything socialism stands for by showing respect for individuals and human life.

Humans, the only creature on this planet to actually comprehend what living and what death is. Such a burden.

Anyways.

She didn't mention abortion. She mentioned miscarriage. Your title is misleading.

She was speaking in an abortion debate. The topic was if the legislature should pass a bill requiring aborted fetal remains to be treated with respect and dignity or if they should be tossed in the trash.

Please re-read the first opening sentence.

The title is accurate.

No matter your opinion on abortion, anybody that could justify terminating the fetus would undoubtedly not have any feelings for the remains.

Pro life folks would be the opposite.

So what's the big deal?

She was referring to miscarriages, not abortions tho.

I don't see why fetal remains demand more respect than an amputated limb, a gal bladder or a wisdom tooth.

Correct. I was meaning to reply to OP.

But, how many earth life forms have given birth on Mars?

I know several.
Try to adopt. It's much easier to adopt a foreign child.

It would also be interesting to know how many women have had three or more abortions.

A clump of cells means that there are cells that are alive. Same as on Mars, a clump of cells is life as cells are alive. However a clump of cells isn't actually a creature or has any clue as to what is going on, if they are important, cry for all the bacteria people wipe and kill every day just cleaning the house, they are life too.

I ate a 1/4 pound of life for lunch.
I didn't eat a human.
Now can we stop with the thought that life and human life are the same?

Actually

The Plumstead lawmaker was referring to language in House Bill 1890, a bill that would require health care facilities to dispose of fetal remains by either cremation or burial.

This sounds like it means they have to do what anyone probably thought they do, cremate the cells but this bill would stop them from selling them and making a very healthy profit from someone else's misfortune.

This is probably way more concerning
HUMAN MINI-BRAINS CREATED IN LAB MAY BECOME SENTIENT AND ABLE TO FEEL PAIN, SCIENTISTS WARN

A group of researchers is scheduled to speak at the Society for Neuroscience meeting in Chicago today to discuss the ethical implications of organoid-based research, The Guardian reports. They argue that some scientists working with organoids risk crossing ethical lines and could unwittingly cause their biological creations to suffer, were they to become conscious—and that some may have already crossed that line by creating sentient tissue.
