So Schiff is going on record stating that he won't allow any witnesses that will harm his narrative.

Sounds more like he's gone on record as being interested in witnesses who can directly address evidence and testimony rather than merely provide ad hominem attacks on other witnesses.

Reasonable.

Well, this will be a short process.

Perhaps. Seems some important testimony has been provided already but we'll see what happens.

Of course, if it does come to impeachment, we'll hear more. From both sides. And it will be Roberts making the rules.

How would Schiff know for sure if any witness has "value" unless he actually "allows" testimony ? 😃

Yeah. You didn't post the whole quote. He expressed his concerns.

He also pointed out that the same procedure was used with Clinton and Nixon. Did you miss that part? Did you just read the headline?

So I guess the answer would be that, yes, you only read the headline.

The quote from Schiff. The one in the article you linked. You can still read it if you're interested. But you're not, are you?

A few thoughts;

This isn’t the official impeachment process so it’s not the same as Clinton/Nixon. This is what the Dems can do without exposing their “at risk” members having to officially vote on impeachment.

If they did vote on official impeachment, the testimony would be in the Judicial committee (Nadler) and not Intel (Schiff).

It’s all for the media anyway. I was originally angry about how the Dems are pursuing fake impeachment but now I’m curious. How far will/can they go with it. Like when you know someone’s lying and instead of calling them on it, you just keep asking questions that either forces them to come clean or dig deeper, lol.

This is good entertainment. My heavens. Just look at the cast. Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, AOC and the Squat Cobblers.

Interesting times.

The "official impeachment process" is what the House says it is. The Constitution says so.

What is your source for this claim?

history.house.gov...

ETA: the Dems can do whatever they want in the House for the next 12 months. It won’t lead to POTUS Trump being removed from office. Jury out on if they will take to an actual impeachment vote or not.

I don't see anything in there about "testimony would be in the Judicial committee and not Intel." But I was talking about laws or rules. Got anything?

I agree with your edit. But we'll see what happens.

Your link is a quote. Of a headline. Which is part of a quote from Schiff.

And headlines are good enough for you. You betcha.

Not anymore than what historically has been done. If they want to pick & choose which historical precedents they want to follow or not, it’s up to them. The end result will be the same.

This is the Left’s only leverage. The process. They have no other power.

ETA: also, they’re on the clock. It won’t go beyond 12 months. They’ve got one bullet. They chose to use it now.

All three times? All three times were the same circumstances?

Sort of like Trump. Right?

Sure. He’s the POTUS and he has the Senate and SCOTUS. The Dems have the House.

They can control the impeachment process. The Senate controls the results. The Chief Justice performs his role as well.

In the end, the results are the same. The Left will go 0 for 25+ in failed smear tactics and POTUS Trump will serve two terms. ETA. Just like Clinton. Except, I’m not convinced it makes it out of the House. They will need a lot more than the “phone call”.

Separation of powers be damned.

I guess you haven't heard. It's gone beyond that "perfect" phone call.

But I'll grant you that so far I don't see an impeachment being a good idea.

We'll see what happens.

Agreed. All I can do is vote. The rest is up to the swamp.

What baffles me is why the MSM and Dems would sacrifice decades (if not centuries) of credibility over what at worst would be 8 years of Trump.

MSM has been branded and repeatedly confirmed as fake news. The Left has gone full Socialism as a platform.

It’s bizarre. Hey, as a conservative I’m willing to give up AR15s and military assault weapons in exchange for a fully secured border. I’m willing to give amnesty to the illegal dreamers in exchange for voter ID. There’s plenty of compromise to be had; if they’d get to the business of the People.

I assume that you are including Fox as MSM.

Perhaps you should be more aware of labels. I'm left of you, probably, but I'm not a socialist. I agree that most of the the Democratic candidates are too far left for my liking.
