How the MSM will spin this. . . . . . .

Trump just got impeached!

No he didn't. This vote wasn't deciding articles of impeachment to send to the Senate.

This vote was about setting guidelines, due process granted, and transparency by releasing transcripts and holding public interviews.

Amazing seeing every republican vote against granting due process and transparency. They can always vote against articles of impeachment when that step comes later, but to vote against due process and transparency speaks volumes.

"Due process" means Republicans can't call witnesses or question them unless Adam Schiff allows it? Sorry, but that's Soviet star-chamber BS.

I hope the senate Republicans file a motion declaring these proceedings illegitimate -- with an itemized list of reasons why -- and any articles of impeachment resulting from them are automatically dismissed. We already have 50 Republicans senators on record disapproving of the process, and there are likely at least one or two Democratic senators who will side with them (such as Joe Manchin of WV), so the measure would pass with a simple majority.

The outcome is that it grants Trump and his attorneys more ability in this level of the investigation than Nixon or Clinton were granted.

I feel sorry for the Dems due to the precedent they set today. One year from election, will they realize how stupid they were in passing this resolution that gives all control to the majority party, when they become the minority party themselves?

Completely no forethought towards future repercussions. Sadly, this seems to be their childish stance in all political agendas. They want what they want and that is all that matters.

You could be quite correct. Both corrupt parties have a long standing history of being very short-sighted in attempting their power plays while in the majority.

That's pretty much the definition of progressivism.

Agreed. The amendments that the repubs proposed for the resolution but were refused, seem to have ensured a fair process for all. It was obvious that this was a power play for Dem control and was crazy listening to the Dems saying it would bring transparency! It in no way brings transparency!

I feel sorry for the GOP due to the President they have today.

Can't agree there. Releasing the closed door transcripts, and shifting to public depositions does bring a lot more transparency than we've seen thus far.

Yet, they are trying to make the best of a bad situation. They have not forgotten that in only one year the people they represent can have a voice to replace Trump. Apparently, the Dems have a much lower opinion of those that vote.

We shall see. The resolution made it quite clear that only majority approved transcripts, depositions, ect. would be made publicly available. Exculpatory evidence will not even be sent to the judicial committee! Only what the Dem majority approves of and what makes Trump look bad.

Edit: If they wanted for transparency, the judicial committee would be handling this by having subcommittees submitting all to them for investigation. As they did in the Clinton resolution. They completely eliminated the judicial committee from investigating this time because that is when real transparency is.

I'm not convinced that only things that made Trump look bad will be released. If they plan on pursuing any perjury charges against those attempting to make Trump look good, then they would certainly have to release those transcripts as well.

American Democrats have fallen all the way for this.

Republicans will continue to "play along" and when the Democrat failure hits, it will end up being the biggest Democrat failure right up to the 2020 elections 😃

All Democrat escapades so far have been failures. Each one failing worse than the previous failure 😃
