OK, describe the perfect system according to you? I'd really be interested in what kind of system you envision?

God, you whine a lot.

You don't like your circumstances? Start your own business. Pay your employees what it is you think you're owed now.
Show the rest of us "sheep" how it's supposed to be done.

Too funny. The guy working for someone else, calling the rest of us sheep! Sounds like you're the one in need of a shepherd.

Those politicians in charge of subsidies for PG&E allowed the PRIVATE utility to take the money and run. Those same politicians in charge will not allow PG&E to cut away brush and dead trees along the utility rights of way in favor of the spotted owl or whatever, never mind that after a fire that the wildlife may or may not survive now has no forest to live in.

The housing market is saturated with multi million dollar listings instead of affordable housing as those same politicians get more in property taxes from expensive listings than from less expensive affordable housing. In demand because the average Joe is unable to cover the expense of moving so they are stuck paying for over priced rent that land lords need to pay the ridiculous property taxes.

And while they may not be problems state wide, the entire population is stuck covering the cost of those mismanaged areas, afterall the WORLDS 5TH LARGEST ECONOMY is unable to manage the extravagant cost associated with those areas. Those same politicians in charge find it more important to pass state wide legislation that employers provide lactation rooms, but its okay if they have to live in their car that they can't afford to put gas in because the gas taxes are more than any other state.

As for regurgitating right wing talking points....they are talking points because it's the truth. They are regurgitated because those politicians in charge have ignored REAL PROBLEMS to instead create travel black list to other states they dont agree with. Facts are Facts, and undisputed, that the world's 5th largest economy has more homeless people than other states, they would rather spend money on non citizens instead of making the state more hospitable to citizens who actually pay both income, sales, and property taxes. If they knew how to manage then they could actually solve some issues instead they would rather open pot restaurants only to find later that the medical issues arising from that will bankrupt them further

You are overstating your case in my opinion when you're not outright exaggerating beyond all rationality.

The housing market is expensive because of DEMAND for housing in CA not the failure of government.

PG&E is a private CORPORATION that has benefited from government subsidies yet, has not reinvested profits or even maintained its infrastructure ... arguably a mini-study in the absolute failure of the theories behind the so-called Laffer Curve.

And so on ...

Those are not universal problems across the entire state of CA.

These are the regurgitated talking points of the right-extremist corporate media.

Housing is expensive in CA because leftist regulations and NIMBYism have constrained supply of housing.

Developers cant build anything and the basic cost are so expensive the only housing worth building is high end homes.

My circumstances are just fine. Apparently you assume people can only have compassion for problems they have themselves. I make plenty money, own some land, and wake up to gorgeous Mountain Views, fresh air, and nice down to earth country folk. My motivation here is not manipulation to improve my own lot, alien as that may seem to you. I’m advocating for others.

Come now. A system as massive as the us definitely needs a panel of experts in multiple fields to figure out the “best” system.

But I’ll give you a beginning. And it’s not about policy. It’s about politics. Limit congressional terms. Limit federal govt massively. Charge corporations when they commit a crime, rather than bail them out. Make the laws apply equally to the rich and the poor. Make it a crime against the state when a politician votes according to corporate donors rather than their electorate. And create an app that every American can use that will give both reasonable arguments for every important legislation and registers their position so we can survey which representatives are voting contrary to the wishes of their population so people have a firmer grasp of what the issues really mean, and if their elected representative is really representing them. Oh, and get rid of mandatory minimum sentencing and plea system and give the power back to the jury.

After that, it wouldn’t really matter to me if we lean socialist or conservative because at least I’d know it was the will of the people, and that I’d support even if I disagreed with it.

To be honest, I never really insult people in general. It’s very difficult to engage in real conversation with conservatives on here because most often people aren’t genuinely engaging, they’re just regurgitating party lines and picking details to attack. So in life I generally try to talk to people on their level. That being the case, most of the right wingers in here generally reside in personal attacks, patronizing and mockery. I notice often people respond to the same language they use so I’ve been trying it out to see if it gets better results. This isn’t the first method I’ve tried and I hope it won’t be the last. But understand that I calmly and reasonably have received years of it on here from “rational conservatives”. Y’all are big boys, you should be able to handle in kind.

Decades of accumulated wealth under capitalism is the reason they are rich.

Also because once somebody gets rich they can pass most of it on to the next generation when they die, so it stays locked into families and doesn't go to the state. Which is a good thing?

Yes because individuals are better at spending THEIR MONEY than the government is.
No need to be jealous of others.

Socialism is why blue states are the richest states.

NO !

As if raising taxes makes you richer - can you balance your chequebook ?

Decades of accumulated wealth under capitalism is the reason they are rich.

As Venezuela and other states show, socialism leads to poverty

But keep right on denying reality

That’s fine. If we ignore facts. Know the difference between Venezuela and Sweden? 20 years of us led attempted coups, assassination attempts, embargo’s, sanctions, and other assorted economic warfare. But I suppose in your eyes the only variable that matters is social programs.

Socialism fails on its' own
Memory of a flea have you ?
Remember the tens of millions that were freed by the fall of the Iron Curtain, the socialist "paradise" that was the largest open air prison in history.

China became rich when it ABANDONED SOCIALISM in the economic sphere.
You don't become rich when you raise taxes - you become poorer and people leave

See above - stop ignoring reality

At any rate, American capitalism has been so successful for South America. Honduras and Columbia are doing great. I’m sure the Middle East is appreciating our democracy and capitalism right now too. We did such a great job with Eastern Europe too. Our wonderful system has been at constant, never ending war since the war to end all wars. We’ve also murdered tens of millions around the globe, and more recently than anyone else. So there is that.

Blue states are socialist in name only.

You can't call a state that provides the bare minimum services and call yourself socialist. Take a look at the homeless problem in California. If California really were socialist then there would be more public housing and rent controlled housing, and far fewer homeless on the streets. That's basic part of socialism. California is simply a high tax state that likes to spend public money on sjw causes.

So, the politicians charged with oversight of PG&E should have placed more and stronger regulations on them?

You don't need me, you're making a fine argument against yourself.

Trees and owls have to do with the overall efficiency of the utility? Nah, I think it's their rape-and-pillage management philosophy that's the real problem.

The California housing market is actually far too complex for either argument to tell the whole story, I argued for demand and you're arguing for supply. It's actually both.

The entire population of California is being charged for problems in some areas of San Francisco and LA? Care to be specific?

Since you've already had to admit that your previous post exaggerated, I don't think you can claim the umbrella of truth for parroting talking points now. California has more PEOPLE than other States too, and I am not diminishing the homeless problem anywhere ... but again you got the statistic wrong. California has more UNSHELTERED homeless than other States.

So what would be a solution? The government providing housing and living income?

Like I said, keep going - you're arguing against yourself just fine.

Just watch migration maps. Why do you think people are leaving California in droves?
www.businessinsider.com...

Also just talk to anyone from Austin, Seattle, Portland, Scottsdale, etc... ask them where all the new people are coming from and why.
