So what do you think would happen if a quick final headcount ahead of the vote doesn’t have enough votes to pass and the vote has to be put off for a little longer?

oh the vote not passing would be the icing on the proverbial cake

but it would in no way stop the house dems from peach mints.

if any of them had reason to stick it to nancy now would be the time......is there an election coming? What better way to secure your blue seat in a red district than by throwing nancy under the bus???

There was/is no controversy. You don't get to call witnesses during an investigation. Thats just silly.

Ummm... so, you're saying the dems have been acting pretty silly, then? Because that is exactly what they have been doing.

"Apparently the Clinton Impeachment allowed all that and it was "OK'd" by a full House vote."

No, it wasn't. Not during the INVESTIGATION.

Yes... it did. That is precisely what the vote to hold a formal impeachment INVESTIGATION did.

Please, get your facts straight.
Facts are important.

I agree... but you need to stop talking to yourself in the mirror, it is embarrassing to watch.

Uhhhhh .. Now What ?? 😃

Pelosi says -- “It’s not an impeachment resolution.”

You need to understand the difference between:

a) An Impeachment Resolution

This is a formal resolution citing specific Articles of Impeachment, that, if passed by the whole House, results in the Impeachment of the target (in this case, the President)

and

b) A resolution authorizing a formal impeachment inquiry.

This is a formal resolution that authorizes an impeachment inquiry, and sets out the rules of engagement and ensures due process.

Nancy plainly stated it was a resolution to formalize the inquiry.

The police/prosecutors were conducting the investigation for OJ.

In a impeachment hearing all of Congress are considered prosecutors including Republicans. So they can depose, take statements and cross examine potential witnesses .

Newt Gingrich: Pelosi announces Trump impeachment inquiry vote – Here's what I am on the lookout for now

Apparently, Nancy is being forced to hold a formal vote because the senate has a resolution teed up, with the backing of 50 GOP senators (meaning it will pass if VP Pence votes for it) to automatically dismiss any articles of impeachment that don't come from a formal inquiry, that don't afford Trump his basic Due Process rights, and don't allow participation by Republicans.

It's now being reported that House Majority Whip Steny Hoyer won't commit to a vote this week to formalize the impeachment inquiry.

This probably means he's concerned the vote would fail.

If the Dems had anything solid, anything of value, they would have run this by the book and out in the open a long time ago.

It speaks volumes on how sneaky and 'closed door' they have been acting.

The DOJ filed a notice of Appeal.

www.jurist.org...

The Democrat's have already filed their response motion.

thehill.com...

A decision is due today.

Lets see how this goes, if the judge rules in the Dem's
favor I expect the DOJ will Appeal again.

from your link:

“Given the constitutional sensitivity of the matter, the stay will almost certainly be granted pending appeal,” Bradley Moss, a national security attorney, told The Hill.

bet the "vote" is "delayed" if the stay is granted

this should be fast tracked to the scotus
