What is Trump's government doing about it? You know, the current government that should be ensuring that essentials are available?

... crickets...

You do realize that people use resources, resources such as water? With states like Ca having water shortages, do you think it’s a good idea to have open borders and allow every third world country to come here and use our limited resources? The left seems to think that’s a brilliant idea. I would say Trump is trying to insure that we have the basic necessities but a fairly large group of people seem to think that’s not in America’s best interest.

Maybe if we took the money we spend on welfare for illegals and used it for the betterment of the citizens of our country we could resolve many issues we face such as insuring that we have a supply of clean water? Once again, there’s a group of people that seem to think this is a bad idea. So yeah, it’s all Trump’s fault right? If not let’s just blame him anyways, yes?

Actually most of the left doesn’t think that. But the fringe loonies are portrayed as the majority and you, like many, eat that up. Similar to how many on the left are misinformed about the majority of the right.

At any rate, the limited resources aren’t because of immigrants. It’s due to the fact that over the last 50 years the us gdp has massively grown, and yet corporations, execs, and shareholders have taken 90% of it, rather than sharing the growth in wealth with the very people who create that wealth through hard work and expanded productivity. That’s called “transfer of wealth” and is strangely massively supported by the very people who complain the most about “wealth redistribution “. If the people in Detroit had their wages grow at the same rate as their productivity over that time period, they wouldn’t have any issues paying their water bills now. At the same time as their wages have been stagnant, and the profits all vacuumed up by bankers and corporations, those same bankers and corporations have been drastically raising prices charged to those workers as well. The joys of unfettered capitalism.

They are coming in to steal your water now? Do they, like, drink up gallons and then surreptitiously waddle it back across the border or something?

I mean, the stuff you guys are coming out with...

This looks like a shortage happening in your country, under the watch of your current government. An openly socialist politician wasn't standing there to indicate what a socialist government might do. He was showing what is happening, right in your faces, under your government, in your country, right now.

And the issue, if you read on, is not really about a resource shortage, but about a simple failure of capitalism.

Yet you are blaming immigrants, and the socialists pointing out the problem, and other countries?

Geenyus!

What does it look like to you?

Here's another visual-

And the decline of the auto industry such as the chapter 11'ing of GM had nothing to do with it?

You know, if there's no work there, people move away.

And what of this place or this place?

Obviously an abandoned dump of a place.

Nope, not blaming illegals entirely but they’re huge drain on all of our resources. Of course with your unmatched wisdom and living in NZ you would know better than the people who actually live here, right? If you honestly think socialism is the answer to America’s problem I would have to say you’re ignorant to the issues.

You asked if the party of the current incumbent had representation. For the city of Detroit, the answer is a resounding NO.

You should do a little more research into the causes of the decline of the auto industry. Seriously, you are embarrassing yourself.

Actually I’d say immigrants are a small drain on our resources. Greedy corporations are a massive drain on our resources, but that doesn’t fit the narrative so it’s ignored. Let’s be clear, us gdp has more than tripled since the 60’s. And yet wages have been stagnant. So the wealthy elite have taken a 200% pay raise, while giving us almost nothing. You think immigrants using our system have a cost balance of 200% of our wages? I don’t think so. Don’t get me wrong, I am strongly against massive immigration, legal or illegal. And I’m one of those “leftists” you decry. And I admit they are a problem by keeping wages lower, but not as much as outsourcing. And I admit they are a burden on our medical costs, but not nearly as much as corporate lobbying, crooked politicians, and out of control intellectual property rights, or ludicrous obscure billing practices.

So a question. What do you think the issues are with the proposals you here that you erroneously term “socialism”? You know, the policies Venezuela or Sweden, or Alaska or Hawaii use?

A question to you, then. Why did the auto industry decline?

I agree with most everything you said but that small drain of resources that you say is coming from illegals, is having a rather large impact on a lot of American citizens. We’re talking billions and billions of dollars annually that could be spent on other programs and infrastructure which are being ignored. It’s just another part of the equation is all. I don’t put all the fault onto illegals, to do so would be ignorant. It’s just another part of the equation that can add up significantly to the detriment of our country.

I have some faith in the US Constitution's power to restore the balance.

There is hope for the US, don't be too defeatist.

The problem lies here. It’s our system. Even if all the illegals disappeared tomorrow, you think they’d let that money go to us? Or to lowering prices? I assure you they would find excuses to steal it all for themselves in greater military contracts, monopolistic telecoms or utility prices or other nefarious methods. Because that’s what our system is set up to do. 08 was used as an excuse to freeze wages. Now I don’t know about you, but I work in hospitals. And they largely froze wages for five years and even now with the “recovery” they barely give us 3%, less than inflation, all on the excuse that the economy wasn’t doing well. This, despite the fact that hospital profits have continued to be higher than ever. It’s all bs and lies they use to keep wages down while racking in ever greater profits.

Pretty much, consumer pricing will always fluctuate up and down while the TPTB make sure that corporate profit margins only increase. They have the game rigged in their favor. Unfortunately in our lifetime greed will always be in fashion.

Enusring we have a supply of clean water might mean building evil things like dams and reservoirs though. It might mean impeding the annual migrations of the tiny snail fluffer fish from one puddle to the next. What is clean water for a city compared to the annual migration of the tiny snail fluffer fish, man?!

So is the socialist one, but you won't find that out until the day you are forced to live it. Some folks are too stupid to understand something until they directly experience it, but by then, it's often too late. This is why we tell you constantly to move to one of those places so you can see for yourself. That way, you only ruin your own life and none of ours.

Ah, yes. I’m sure Sweden or Norway would be way worse than New Orleans East where I grew up, with prostitutes walking up and down my street, and a crack house on the corner. Fortunately for me, apparently unlike you I can read and understand social markers and statistics. Over there, and in many other places you call “socialist” even though they are nothing close to it, there are perfectly acceptable standards of living, quality of life, healthcare, education, opportunity and stability far surpassing many places I’ve lived in the us. Perhaps if you lived in some other countries you might experience what real statistics look like, or real Journalism, or actual social safety nets. But until then, come with real facts and statistics, rather than vague aspersions and establishment narrative lines, you insulting, patronizing hack. And don’t ever come at me with name calling again you ignorant asshat.
