So investigating corruption is a crime?

And if you're a candidate in an election you're immune from being investigated?

Well, is DOJ investigating Hunter or Joe Biden?

Investigating corruption is not usually a crime, but compromising the power of the Presidency for one's own political ends might be.

I don't think the Trump cultists will ever admit their dear leader is in deep trouble.

Again Trump is in deep trouble over what? an Ukrainian phone call? what are the charges? have you seen the 2020 Liberal candidates? do you really want any of them to take over? Biden? Warren? Beto?

They are the biggest UN supporters. Some of you liberals and MSM outlets for sure thought that something out of the Russian collision crap would come out and nothing did MSM outlets lost their ratings over it.

This crap over Ukraine would be the same.

I watch the video on TV where Trump incriminated himself twice. Once with the Ukraine and once with China.

Linky? I've seen lots of videos of him, and never seen 'incriminate himself' - unless, or course, you are listening through the new Electro-5000 TDS headphones that combine sensory modification (real-time edits of the audio) and behavioral modification (electr-cranial shock therapy)... is that what you're doing? Now cut that out!

You can't say in one press conference quid and then pro quo. He's done it twice. Trump is his own worse enemy. You Trump cultists keep saying there's no evidence but I watch it on TV out of Trumps own mouth!
Yep... you really shoudl take those headphones off and return them before the Amazon return window closes.

And then there is the incriminating text messages. No matter how much you Trump cultists deny there is "no there there" to use industry parlance "this story has legs."

"As I said on the phone, I think it's crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign."

Yep... leaving off the response totally disproving that TDS attempt at setting Trump up.

At some point you cultists have to accept it's not the media that is the problem here because the media is NOT making up the evidence!

No, they're just being extremely selective about what they release, removing anything that doesn't forward their #OrangeManBad narrative.

They don't have a choice.

Sure they do...

But in all honesty, if the dems can muster up the votes (I have my doubts), and the Senate decides to hold a trial - the ensuing disaster for the dems will be glorious to see.

You do realize that in such a case, they get to call all of the witnesses that testified in secret again, right? And they can call a lot of other witnesses that will show what was really going on. You knew that, right?

Silly gurl...

No, if Articles pass the House they really don't have a choice and strictly speaking it won't be up to McConnell ... The Chief Justice presides.

ETA ... You do know that testimony will be under oath right?

We'll see... I at least understand the argument, but I also understand the legal doctrine known as 'fruit of the poisoned tree', and that would be the basis for the Senate simply rejecting the House's impeachment attempt. They could do so, by simply Graham submitting a Resolution to hold a vote to exonerate the President without holding a trial - he could word it such that there are two choices - not guilty, or hold a trial. If they went straight to not guilty - what is Pelosi/Schiff gonna do about it?

Well assuming from the Russian Collision they haven't found anything. Remember the leftists/socialists just want Trump because they hate him with a passion that's it and he destroyed Hillary in the election.

I never asked what law Trump broke. I don’t think asking for information sharing from another country’s investigation is breaking the law. Especially when in concerns a US citizen. What if what Ukraine found merited the death penalty? I would certainly hope that someone would go over the proof before just handing over a US citizen to another country. That’s why I don’t get upset with the UK when they don’t just hand over their people to the US without looking at it first to satisfy their interests.

Yes. A Psuedo-Transcript of a call with the Ukranian Leader where he asks him for help in his domestic political campaign.

How about information invention? And is it "asking" when you are extorting someone?
You know, demanding public statements announcing investigations into your domestic political rival at threat of US Military Aid appropriated by congress?

My first quote there regarded the alleged inequitable situation on the Intelligence Committee due to Schiff being able to issue subpoenas on his own. That is a DIRECT result of the abuse of Congressional Power by the House Republicans in 2015 particularly Trey Gowdy.

I would love to know more about this. Do you have a link?

I am well aware that the investigation was concerning the Trump campaign, however, the result was more about Donald Trump than his campaign. You yourself are not here claiming that the Trump campaign obstructed justice, but that Trump himself obstructed justice. I am also well aware that several of Trump's associates have been prosecuted... but not one for anything concerning Russian collusion surrounding the campaign. Not one. All of the charges have been from well before the Trump campaign existed, and most of those who faced jail time suddenly were singing all kinds of stories about what Trump did... none of that being substantiated by any other evidence. That tells me they were offered a plea deal to deliver dirt on Trump, true or not.

As far as the comparison to the Clinton Campaign, Fusion GPS paid Steele for his work, and then sold that to the law firm that then sold it to the Clinton Campaign. That's just another example of the fine traditions of "plausible deniability" in American politics but it's not techically illegal. No, I don't like it because in spirit at least, it's the same damn thing that Trump and Co. were accused of. The Dems are just more sneaky.

Technically illegal, no. However, you at least agree with me that it is the exact same thing Trump was accused of and that Mueller investigated. I do not understand how it is illegal when Trump does it, but it is "technically legal" when Hillary did it. That is the danger to the country, the fact that so many are willing... no, more like fanatical... to watch the unequal application of justice.

You know at least that I know what the structure of the Congress is as well as you know that we have commonly referred to Senators and Congressmen. Had you described Clinton as "a Member of Congress" you would have been correct, however, in any common reference in American English what you said was technically incorrect or at least uncommon usage. No need to be defensive, really.

Not defensive at all... but I am disappointed that semantics are now used as "evidence" of anything. You do realize you are admitting to placing the vernacular above the actual definition?

Were someone to read my comment that started this, about Hillary Clinton being a "Congressman," surely one would think they would at least consider the definition of the word's definition before making a comment that the statement was incorrect. That would be what I would expect from someone who knew the definition. So you will forgive me for the assumption that you did not know the definition.

OH MY GOD REALLY??? LOL. SO the reason the Trump Admin hasn't "locked her up" is because they feared SUICIDE? Thank you Redneck, I needed that laugh.

My pleasure. Too bad so many of Clinton's prior associates aren't able to laugh with us.

Trump isn't in jail because he is (currently) the President of the United States

That's going to be hard to prove, since Trump was under absolutely no investigations into anything untoward until he became the frontrunner in the campaign which got him the job.

There must be justice to obstruct? LOL. You mean like firing the FBI Director that wouldn't drop the investigation you don't like? Riiight. Using the President's bully pulpit every day to continually attempt to discredit and lie about the Mueller Investigation? That kind of justice?

Yes, firing an incompetent, corrupt person who fills the position at the pleasure of the President. The investigation was not even being run by Comey. The FBI Director does not run investigations... they do not appear and disappear with every new FBI Director. Agents run investigations.

And of course, we're back to the mean orange man saying things that hurt feelings. Trump had just as much right to fire Mueller as he did Comey... or anyone else in the FBI/DoJ/CIA or any other agency in the Executive Branch. So why didn't he? If he wanted to obstruct justice, there's the guy who is actually conducting an investigation, unlike Comey. No, Trump not only allowed him to continue his investigation unimpeded, but he even allowed multiple White House officials to testify. Yes, he pointed out problems with the investigation and proclaimed his innocence. In short, Trump defended himself. If that is obstructing justice, then anyone can be convicted for anything... they apparently have the option of confessing to a crime whether they did it or not or are guilty of obstructing justice if they do not confess. Spanish Inquisition, anyone?

LOL ... yeah 2020's going to be a hoot, eh? I wish T&C let us take bets, but it doesn't. See you then.

Oh, I'll be right here to console everyone who has pushed this false narrative... and by "console" I mean laugh at while they do their primal scream therapy. I actually had a few twinges of compassion for the antics that took place after 2016, but I promise you... this time I will have no issue with tormenting everyone who cries unmercifully.
