I totally agree, some threads which use a barrage of these abbreviations I find I just can't understand what they are talking about. Would really be great if folks put the full meaning in for the first tine they go to use the abbreviation so us non US folks can understand what the point being made is

I once was told that 85 percent of percentages were made up on the spot.

Let us not do the same for abbreviations.

Yes, and I have an AOC 22" monitor I'm looking at right now --- but pleeeeezzzee:
* the AOC moniker is a twitr handle for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Rep D NY ( which means US House of Representatives Democrat New York)

With our efforts combined we have exposed Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for the cultural appropriator she is

In keeping, I must admit the monitor is mounted upside down, so from time to time (startup) it reminds me of the representatives' take on things, now that you've associated the two for me. Thanks!

My mentor uses made up abbreviations constantly. Everyone is called by their first/last initials. He uses "BC" for because.

Its like reading Chinese sometimes, and without a few years experience with him it can be difficult to know what he is saying.

LE - Law Enforcement?

On this thread p. 1, for example, last post:
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Once again not to bash anybody, but just to show, I'm not sucking these out of my thumb.

Also on the thread, but unclear to me:

PA - (public address system, last I knew, but seemingly not here) and LEO.

PA - to my knowledge, so our band's got a gig, who's gonna hire the PA?

I've worked out (by various contexts) that LEO is "law enforcement officer." In other words, they mean what I would call a P.C. (Police Constable).
