I don't think you've kept up with current events.

Voting for Trump is illegal because racism is illegal.

GET WITH THE PROGRAM!

My take was that the blue marker is the city searched, not some lone non Trump donation person.

You are correct.

When I zoom in on the marker, it's our local jail.

(Or that could be our lone Democratic supporter..
)

So they are just using the blue marker as the center of town.

So they are only showing red donators... it's confusing where I live because there are no actual Democrats here.

More confusing is that I am not listed as a donor.

Even more confusing is when I checked my home town there are no red markers.

It's kinda a crappy website then.

Still probably a cause for concern though.

The ballot box is a box because you are supposed to be able to vote in private.

Doxxing people and calling them racist because they financially support someone who isn't a Democrat the last election cycle is a dangerous thing.

Or let's just let the Purge begin.... I dunno.

It is not voting, it was donations to a political candidate.

imagine what the NSA and big business knows about a person.

Site like this make it easy for people to know things they normally would not find on their own. it is a bit scary, given the state of our society.

A person's political donation and vote should be protected the same way.

It's a private matter.

The issue is knowing where the money is coming from so a person isn't buying an office. (limits, etc)

But I can understand that a person might want the donation to be private.

I agree, the FEC should have full access to this information as it is their job to ensure donations are legal. However, should the general public have free access to this information as well? That is the big question that needs to be addressed IMO.

The issue is exactly what the thread is about...

Making a website to target people of a certain political affiliation and then posting their personal information while calling them racist.

What's next... a friendly brick through the window?

Antifa coming to say "HI!" because you are in the neighborhood?

Let's be honest... this is intimidation tactics.

A dangerous road we are going down with this.

Our society may now be to screwed up to allow this information to be public anymore. But someone other than the government needs to be able to check it though.

Slippery.

Couldn’t they be sued for defamation of character by calling donors racist?

It should be available via an FOIA request, specific to a city/specific bounded area. In addition, it should be provided with a caveat that the name/location details must be anonoymized if made available to anyone other than those listed on the FOIA request. I think that would preserve the privacy of the affiliation of the donors, while making the information available for research or investigative purposes.

If you read the site carefully, it only calls Trump the racist. The search is for his 'supporters'.

So from a legal standpoint, it would be a tough claim.

The site absolutely takes the fullest advantage of the Moses Illusion.

They know exactly what they are doing.

This is a bit much period. The "Racist" label is over the top.

I know my political donations are available, public knowledge (many ways) but historically required a request or in the public sector filings of various types...I never really cared as one single party was ever the focus that and they are not "big" just contributions.

Locally, my donations have been to who would be better or who us doing great regardless of affiliation. Hell, judges where I am win by only 100's of vote.

As a business owner, this is concerning. One sided look at donations to Trump only and labeled by a search in a site named "racist watch"?

I'll look into this.

Funny thing is though, my mother never donated any money to any party. So, how did her name get on this list?

That you know of.
Do you support the Democrats?
If so, maybe she didn’t want you to call her a racist when she donated to Trump.

I know because she's on a fixed income and can't afford to throw money around. And I'd never support democrates.

All this is going to do is force me to do something I've never done before, and that is make a donation to President Trump.

It is obviously a joke made by conservatives, to make the fake point.. maybe satire from a place like “ the onion”..

a toddler can tell it is fake.... I mean conservatives will believe anything, but for regular people a toddler could tell it is fake..

it is fake... made by conservatives to make a fake point.. it is probably satire with the author never guessing it would get passed around conservative circles like it is real...

I mean he should have known as onion articles have made conservatives look stupid repeatedly.
