I agree, but I also think that a "News Organization" should focus on news and not personal attacks against a person/place/thing.
Another example of this type of dualistic problem:
While I'm glad that this Atomwaffen member was busted, I strongly disagree with the use of the "Red-Flag" laws to do it, when the
Feds could have just gotten a warrant for the arrest if the state was more willing to work with the Feds. It's kind of like a person getting killed in
a robbery at their corner market only to find out that the market owner was also peddling child porn. Was the killing right? No, but neither was the
discovered crime either.
Trump going after CNN is the same type of issue. I agree that something should be done, but I don't think attacking their 1-A is the way to do it.
My idea (and yes I suggested this to my local Senator who sent me a form letter saying thanks for nothing) was to give News channels a tax break, but
then also hold them to broadcasting mostly news and remove the massive commentary they all seem to harbor. I think forcing CNN to reclassify
themselves as a commentary channel rather than a news outlet would seem to fix the issue without hurting anyone's 1-A rights.
