The distinction many are trying, desperately, to overlook, obscure, perhaps even, obstruct and/or cover up is this:

Although the use of foreign aid as a tool of leverage in policy negotiations and applications is “time honored”, and accepted, if not even, expected as a form of “quid pro quo”; its employment can only be acceptable when used

in the furtherance of national foreign policy objectives for the benefit of the country.

This administration’s failure is in the presumption that the nation’s assets (ie.: foreign aid) could be justifiably leveraged to coerce a foreign government into providing assistance for the benefit not of the US as a Nation, but for Trump, as an individual, seeking to undermine a potential political rival.

Had Trump actually been the “stable genius” he claimed to be, he could have legitimately leveraged Ukraine into an investigation into general corruption.

But, by merely mentioning his rival, Biden, and/or any member of Biden’s family, in the context of the corruption probe, the “pay back” for the promised aid funds being held in contingency,

Trump crossed a bright red line.

A line that likely has become a trip-wire to impeachment.

A guess. She lies a lot, and has much sand in the crotch about Trump, and reminds me of a nagging mother in law, who only watches CNN. SO I based my guess off of those things.

A Lawyer, bwahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!

Sry Manny. They already know what will happen if they try to remove Trump as President. SHTF scenario.

Yeah, the outrage on social media would be epic.

that's true. But as one who knows law, and represents clients, um, I think you need a bit more smarts.

In the time honored tradition, the convict facing the gallows has usually brought his own rope, one way or another.

However, the way 45 is unraveling, and especially given Speaker Pelosi’s comments regarding Trump’s apparent state of health, I wouldn’t be too surprised if, perhaps, Article 25 was invoked well before Thanksgiving.

Officials in the WH itself have been said to be concerned that Trump could pose a national security risk. His recent actions have brought bipartisan condemnation and concern, not to mention international consequences.

It could be possible that, although resistant to impeachment, a sufficient number of Republican Senators might be convinced to back a “temporary” removal of the President, given “concern for his health and current fitness to serve”.

It could be presented as a “compassionate” Nolo Contendre means of removal without the disruptiveness (and political damage) of an impeachment.

Any time you offer something for something in return, is a quid quo pro.

We all do it every time we go shopping.

I agree. There are many political options at this point.

trump could have a deal presented to him that if he leaves now, pence will pardon him, and he can get away with his crimes.

he would play this off by having a "health problem" or some such non-sense.

or they could do as you say, and remove him for his senility.

either way, I am in agreement with Mitch McConnell:

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told Republican senators Wednesday to be ready for an impeachment trial of President Trump as soon as Thanksgiving, as the Senate began to brace for a political maelstrom that would engulf the nation.

Your post's interpretation of what Mulvaney actually said is full of straw.
