I think Pelosi is more worried about a different vote coming to the House floor sooner or later than one on impeachment.

A vote of No Confidence. The petition against her on change.org is up to 342 and the original layout was for refusing to bring an impeachment vote to the floor. So she is in the proverbial Catch 22 right now.

And so many idiots think Trump is stupid! Like him or not he is a billionaire for a reason!

Maybe Nancy heard from chief Supreme Court Justice John Roberts? He would be the one to preside over the Senate impeachment trial. I bet he told Nancy to follow precedent, or stop making a mockery of what should be a serious and solemn impeachment process.

So there are no impeachment powers currently in place to force the executive branch to do squat.

Obama could easily be the mastermind of this whole operation. He's the one who would know better than anyone an easy way he could have been impeached. He knew Trump was going to get around to looking into Biden and Hunter at some point because that's what he would have done to his political enemy so why not get someone on the inside to keep their ear to the ground and wait for it.

Obama is being awfully quiet these days. His name is seldom brought up even though it should be. He knew all about Biden and Hunter and approved the withholding of aide to the Ukraine.

Seems this is just another on going smear tactic against the president.
A simple floor vote to investigate abuse of power, obstruction ect seems pretty easy to take.

You realize there is no vote only because one is not needed?

You guys and girls may choose to live in denial, but at the same time you're doing that an official impeachment inquiry is ongoing. Not only is it ongoing, but every single witness called upon so far has disobeyed the directions of the White House and complied with the impeachment inquiry.

Do you know why?

Because they chose to obey the law.

So the logic here is ... Nancy Pelosi stated that there doesn't have to be a House majority vote to begin the impeachment process ... therefore ... there MUST be a vote to begin?

Is there anything between severe cognitive dissonance and absolute reality-denying insanity?

Jeez.

Again, I'd love to see anything, any citation from the Constitution, the Rules of the House, the Rules of any committee that says any vote is required to START impeachment ... because frankly, that doesn't exist.

I think you pretty much summed it up here and elsewhere.

Pelosi and Schiff (et al) can do whatever they want in an impeachment inquiry. Now if they actually WANT to actually impeach the president, then they have to vote.

This is just political posturing at this point to try to influence voters in the upcoming 2020 election. It's an attack on the political opponent. That's all this is.

she knows it is required otherwise why have a meeting and make a statement?
the vote is required to "authorize a formal impeachment inquiry"; she just at this point refuses to take it

It's all fairly obvious.

The Democrats used 2+ years of the phony Russia investigation to score political points leading into the 2018 mid terms.
Now that is gone, they've concocted something else to keep the investigation narrative going in the run up to the 2020 elections. They won't vote on actual impeachment because its doubftul the full Democrat caucus would actually support it in the house, let alone the Senate actually taking it seriously PLUS they don't want it to end too quickly.. they need this to run for months, with snippets released to the media (coordinated of course)

This is all about the campaign and using The House majority to smear the opposition.

Nothing ever happens. You don't even have to lift rocks up to find corruption from the left but they have too many associates running things from the inside so nothing ever happens to them. If Epstein had been a close friend of Trump instead of Clinton, his mansion would have gotten a REAL investigation after he was assassinated by suicide in a high profile max security prison when the cameras malfunctioned.

Democrats are covering their own tracks while they dig for dirt on Trump.
