"The result (of the investigation) gives us enough grounds to believe the death of rifleman Gurdi Gurdev was caused by friendly fire."
A machinegunner on an armoured vehicle, rifleman Gardev was killed from multiple wounds suffered in an attack while his unit patrolled on a road to Baghdad in the village of Hamza, some 160 kilometres south of the capital, a spokesman for the defence ministry said on Friday.
