Maybe not. But Trump's decision to withdraw just before a Turkish invasion and the further withdrawal due to their extension doesn't look good on your nation.

On the contrary - it looks very good, if you know how to play global chess.

And we have a lot of people that are very good at it.

Watch and see...

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on FoxNews yesterday:

Pompeo said that Turkey told him they were going to invade Syria with 15,000 troops within 48 hours.

Pompeo told President Trump

An angry Trump called Turkey's Edrogan

Edrogan said we're invading Syria with 15,000 troops, planes, tanks, etc.. in 48 hours. PERIOD.

Trump "went off script" with Edrogan, hung up, and ordered the Pentagon to get our 1,100 men/women out of the immediate area ASAP.

Smells more like makings of more war, than it does the making to end war.

If you've ever thought that Trump was a Deep State plant, some of that reasoning could be revealed...

Even more so, if you pulled the strings or didn't even have to, that your subject was that predictable.

Could get away with a lot, if you could map out the data well enough. predictive analytics is the minority report of yesterday.

So, Assad was the bad guy, and we abandoned our allies. How does the left reconcile this new development?

A lot breaking in Syria today and more to come in the next few days. Looks like Syrian and maybe even Russian forces will move into the previously held Kurdish territory to protect the Kurds. Very fluid situation. It could turn into peace or WWIII.

Rumors of a no-fly zone and that this new deal will include the liberation of Syrian territory held by Turkey as part of the deal with the Kurds.

Army units move north to confront Turkish aggression on Syrian territory

Hasaka, SANA – Syrian Arab Army units began moving north to confront Turkish aggression on Syrian territory, SANA’s reporter in Hasaka said on Sunday.

This movement comes to confront the ongoing Turkish aggression on towns and areas in the north of Hasaka and Raqqa provinces, where the Turkish forces committed massacres against locals, occupied some areas, and destroyed infrastructure.

Live coverage from Lookner.

What??? Trump was right all along, again??? Imagine that...

Don't confuse them with facts. It's all Trumps fault, because the presence of US SOF would have magically deterred Erdogan from invading.
Just imagine how f**d up this situation would have been if US SOF were caught between turkish and syrian mechanized units.
Guess that would have been Trumps fault too.

For effs sake. The excuse that casts the US as some wussy 3rd world army that Turkey would ever mess with is STUPID.

PUTIN wouldn't even mess with the region as long as US Forces were present.

Why do you think Erdogan called Trump to ask him to withdraw in the first place?
Why do you think no one had invaded yet? Putin, Assad or Erdogan?
No government was going to risk the full fury of the US, the most powerful military on the planet.
Terrorists are the only ones that take that risk because they can hide. Turkey and Syria are very clearly on a map and any military hostility toward American Soldiers would have profound and immediate consequences.

We were in a position to negotiate peace for the Kurds and 3 days prior to Trump giving them up for Slaughter the US Secretary of Defense and Turkish Defense Minister had announced an agreement for a safe zone along the Turkish border during negotiations.

The idea that Turkey would have bombed US Soldiers if Trump didn't withdraw is the dumbest defense I have heard of this betrayal.

[...]

Read the quote again.

Fact 1: Turkey mobilized and deployed the equivalent of a mechanized division on the Syrian border. They drew up detailed operational plans and got ready to go into Syria a time of their choosing
Fact 2: Erdogan gave the order to invade before informing Trump about it. He never, at any point ask for a withdrawl of western troops.
Fact 3: The US was not informed by Turkey but discovered what was going on. The Secretary of State informed the President that Turkey had decided to invade was going to do so wtihin 48 hours.
Fact 4: Trump called Erdogan demaning to know what was going on. Erdogan told him they were going to invade and to screw himself. Trump then made the call to get the US SOF out of harms way.

So if this version of events is accurate it's very clear that Turkey simply ignored the presence of western SOF in the AO. They didn't even bother to ask for an withdrawl or tried to establish some sort of coordination to keep those troops safe. In fact, as subsequent events show, the turkish forces on the ground seem not to worry that much about western SOF getting caught in the crossfire.

So you can bitch and moan about it, but the fact is, deterrence had failed. I'd agree with you that it shouldn't have and i find it at the very least ballsy for Turkey to go in without caring about the western presence in the AO, but the facts are the facts.

It’s a bad situation all around, but I’d like to ask you what call you would have made in Trumps shoes. You have 1000 lightly armed US SOF in Syria. There is no way to effectively reinforce them quckily enough. You get told by your Secretary of State that your so called ally has blindsighted you and is preparing to invade with several heavy brigades. You call said ally. His mind is made up, he’s going in.

So here are your options:

1) Do nothing, US SOF stay put. -> Turkey will invade regardless. It’s very likely US troops will suffer casualties by getting caught in the cross fire. You’ll be blamed for it and nothing will be accomplished
2) Order the US SOF to fight alongside the Kurds against invading Turkish forces. -> Congratulations, tomorrow morning you have to deal with nuclear crisis at Incirlik and ask Congress to declare war on Turkey.
3) Order the US SOF to withdraw. -> It’ll look bad, but at least no American blood will be spoiled.

What you cannot do is go back in time to establish a more meaning full deterrence by deploying several brigades in Northern Syria.

This is a decent interview of Secretary of Defense Esper about the situation:
www.youtube.com...

Key points:
1)The US doesn't have the military capability to stop Turkey from invading Syria with 15.000 troops. Not without a major buildup at least.
2) At no point did the US sign on do defend the Kurds against Turkey - Nato ally no less.
3) Turkey was fully committed to go in regardless of what the US did.
4) He actually recommended withdrawing the SOF. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs agreed with that recommendation.
5) Erdogan informed the US that Turkey would invade. He did not ask permission to do so.

This has the potential to blow up into something far worse than the intended operation if that report is true.

Have you not read Ezekiel 37-39?
.

Turkey is the land of Gog-Magog as written in the Bible. Erdogan and Turkeys Muslim Brotherhood have been around since before WW2. They were disgraced in Egypt so they quietly changed their name to ISIL and then ISIS and went on a warpath to claim what Erdogan thought should be his to rule. Obama fully supported him no matter what anyone thinks. Obama is also on video of late claiming to be the first US president to ever come from Kenya but I digress.

Erdogan was on local news there about four years ago screaming to his not so many fans that the Arab nations need a new Caliphate, just as long as its another Ottoman led one lol. Total ISIS speech through and through from the anti-christ Erdogan, never mind some of his bonehead ISIS fighters left up a poster in their new liberated HQ showing a new nation of Turkey that just happened to have most of Syria and Iraq in its new borders.

Turkey is now using their regular army units to try and take back what their militia fighters lost, from Iraq and Syria to Libya where his navy has landed an amphibious force.

I thought for sure when Turkey shot down the Russian fighter bomber all hell was going to hit the fan but Putin plays chess not checkers. Russia being Consecrated as an Easter Orthodox Christian nation again is a big deal in Prophetic timeline. Russia has to be setting Turkey up because Putin knows history and wants the nation of Turkeys capital to be Constantinople again.

Doesn't look like Turkey is worried about coming into contact with US forces as some have claimed.

US military carries out ‘show of force’ in Syria after Turkish-backed fighters get close to American forces, official says

U.S. military aircraft carried out a “show of force” in Syria after Turkish-backed fighters came in close proximity to American forces during the Turkish offensive, a U.S. official told Reuters.

The official said U.S. military aircraft were flown over the area after troops in northeastern Syria felt the Turkish-backed fighters were too close. The Turkish-backed fighters dispersed after the show of force, the official said.

Some fighting is still going on and peace efforts have not gone anywhere yet. I have not seen any reports of Russia getting into any fights though, so that is a good thing.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has rejected a US call for an immediate ceasefire in northern Syria, saying Turkey's offensive will continue.

His comments come as US Vice-President Mike Pence and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo prepare to fly to Turkey to try to broker a truce.

On Tuesday, Russia warned that it would not allow clashes to take place between Turkish and Syrian forces.
