Unfortunate word choice, but not quite a contradiction;
"The wars that have been endless through the past must end in the future."
If he had wriiten "The unstoppable wars must be stopped", you would have had a point.
It is actually a saying here, obvious not in English but it translates literally. You kind of make something endless and say it has to end to make
others think about the reasons why they are perceived as "endless".
