These child's drawings were found underneath wallpaper that is over 130 yrs old. The person that found them was going to take the old wallpaper off and paint the walls.

For now he's decided to leave the drawings up on the wall while he tries to investigate the origins further.

If I found this when I was doing some home remodeling I would be totally creeped out.

BTW - Does anyone know the origins of the saying in the title of thread?

I tried googling it and the closest match it could find was a book on Demonology

It’s just doodles?
He’s probably mocking a teacher or parent that made his life difficult with that quote.

I love a good conspiracy, but this is a nothing-buger

Well, anything that creeps me out is definitely NOT a nothing-burger to me!

Also, my guess is the drawings were done by a little girl not a little boy based on some other drawings found along with these. Not that it matters, but it seems that demonic possessions seem to favor females.

ETA - according to the story alongside these pictures, the drawings were done by the original owners 10 year old daughter.

I don’t believe in demons, religion, heaven, hell etc.
So unfortunately to me at least, it’s not an argument you posed, it’s nonsense.

well I do know that the term "leather necks" for Marines was around this time period as well.

it may or may not have bearing in the statement.

Leather necks referred to the high collar Marines wore to prevent swrd strikes to the neck.

Just an old jar head (the "high and tight" hair cut looks like the lid of kerr jars) speaking about Marine history

Possible the girl was drawing her abuser or molester? That might be the source of the creepy quote.

The owls are not what they seem!

Very chilling find there, OP. Kids just creep me out in general so it's not shocking. My only question would be how you managed to date the wallpaper/ drawing?

(Ignore the sour detractors. Thanks for sharing.)

The owl drawings are actually dated and signed if you zoom in.

Pretty cool find!

Sounds like the author is speaking of a priest of some kind.

The author of the article never said how he dated it.

It's from a FaceBook group page called Our Old House.

Here's the rest of the text blurb:

So... I started stripping wallpaper in our 1871 house in a room I was very excited to refinish. As I was peeling back paper, I uncovered a set of eyes looking at me. The original owners 10 year old daughter drew pictures on the walls before they papered. The walls were papered on December 27th 1889. I’ve only done half the room so I’m sure there are more. I’m sort of at a loss as to what to do. The plaster is badly cracked from the house settling 2 inches and damaged from ice dams. We were planning on fixing the cracks and papering. I’m having some trouble coming to grips with covering this up. 🤦🏻‍♀️😔. I think the solution is to take many photographs and then continue with the repairs. I took these pictures at night so they are a little dark.

Edit to include the translation of the man in the hat

it says with a standing collar up to his chin, he looks like satan choked in sin

And here's a direct link to that page:

it's dated 1889, that's 130 yrs.
seeing how some mentioned the Marine Corps, i decided to look for old Marine Covers. i know that some old army covers had brims all the way round. but couldn't find any Corps covers that matched. i did how ever find this. look at the guy on the left. if image was reversed, he would look similar.
Oorah.
