Couldn't agree with your more. The symbolism and dedication and wailing and pulling of hair is out of hand in this country. Everyone wants to be special.

Holidays and weekends interfere with a lot of legitimate and necessary activity. I make a point of trying to stay out of the hospital from Friday through Sunday and on holidays. Nothing gets done.

When my father was battling leukemia this pattern became clear to us. Patients can basically go to hell during these days.
