One of rocks greatest drummer has passed away age 80.

Ginger Baker was part of the first ever " Supergroup " Cream. He was held in high esteem by his fellow musicians as one of the greats.

R.I.P. Ginger, you gave us some great music.

Hard to love but easy to respect Ginger Baker was a tormented genius who had drums flowing through his veins , a true legend and innovator who's legacy will live on in drummer DNA until the beat finally stops.

The only reason he lived to 80 is Death was to scared to come calling.

RiP Ginger.

Just watched Classic Albums on Disraeli Gears...

There is a certain calmness about their past, especially Clapton. But the person that you are drawn to is Ginger Baker. That hair...

But when you listen there is a fluidity and weird jazz nod and tons of notes that influenced other drummers to come.

*sigh*

Another hero gone to jam with Jimi.

To the power trio and Cream! And RIP Ginger Baker.

I was listening to this song on my stereo, when I came upon your thread. Ginger could be an arrogant SOB sometimes, but he was in many great bands and influenced many drummers around the world. If you haven't seen it, check out the documentary, Beware of Mr. Baker.
