Humans are on a collision course of divergence. If we keep up with the way we are now going, we will eventually be all one 'color' per say. Think Darwins finches. Or in the grander scale, birds in general. Why do all finches have the same characteristics around the globe? If you made a giant landmass with no mountains or barriers, the finches would all look at the same over time. Human evolution happens are a rather rapid rate compared to most creatures our size, and we are very intelligent and sexually driven. One day there will be large pockets of human societies where we will look all similar in skin color.

Probably not.

The only reason I say that is because we all started out the same.

Science has shown we all are descended from the same tribe in Africa. www.livescience.com...

The only gene pool anyone ever originally had was black, then - or I should say now - look at the diversity from what should have been a completely melanin rich world of humanity.

With our current diversity of genes, it will be highly unlikely we will all end up looking the same, that would be backward evolution.

Maybe...science can only go back as far as discovered genes. I believe in a multiple root racial makeup.

How many species of wild cats are there as an example. Denisovans, perhaps modern asian racial characteristics, Cro Magnon, etc...

How about lost continents as possible origins of species...I completely disagree with "out of Africa" it just isnt plausible when considering the entirety of the animal kingdom.

I remember watching a TV programme about a freed African slave who came from the cotton fields of the US to England in 17 something. He married a local girl, settled down, raised a family.

Cut to late 1900s and his direct descendants are this white family of farmers living in northern England (Cumbria, I think).

They found out from a genetic test. They were stunned of course.

Completely normal white folk, nothing about their appearance to suggest black heritage.

Then again, a black couple occasionally will give birth to a white child.

Who here has ever participated in a fruit fly experiment in highschool?

www.yourgenome.org...

Although generally considered a pest by farmers because they lay their eggs in ripening fruit, in the laboratory the fruit fly has proved to be one of the most useful tools for studying a whole range of biological processes, from ecology to alcoholism. “There are many qualities of the fly that make it such a desirable organism to study. There are many qualities of the fly that make it such a desirable organism to study. It has a short life cycle, simple reproduction and is relative inexpensive to maintain. However, the most useful characteristic of flies, particularly to human genetics? research, is the close similarity between the genes? of flies and humans. History of the fly

The theory about we all originating from Africa does not work.

It does not explain Neanderthal and Denisova gene pool.

Also the sangomas say that even African people do not originate from there.

Also taking in to consideration that continents have changed.

Genetics can be complex.

Instead of focusing on the skin colour, which has huge variation, focus on other inherited characteristics which make up ethnicity. For example, when people talk about black skin colour they need to realise that in Africa (for example) there is a huge variation of tone - there is every shade of brown and black and each colour is a marker for where in African they lived. Africa's a big place, you know.

A better genetic marker could be eye colour and perhaps hair colour.

Out of Africa is for humans. If you look at human genes on the micro scale, the genetic code of all human beings is 99.9% identical. It is only .1% that create "racial" characteristics. www.telegraph.co.uk...

I have no idea where or how animals started.

Genetics have shown that the wide variety of cats we see all descended from one type of cat. All dogs descended from wolves, genetics have proven this.

As long as interbreeding is possible, there is a common ancestor. Without a common ancestor interbreeding is impossible without genetic manipulation outside the body by scientists.

So any animal, fish, human that can breed naturally and successfully has a common genetic ancestor. Without the common genetic ancestor interbreeding is totally impossible.

You have a lovely theory, but it is not supported by scientific evidence. What you are actually discussing is de-evolution, which I suppose technically possible if people are gene edited in a lab. Which may be the way of the future, but I would shiver at the thought of making everyone the same. Diversity enriches us all and makes the world a more interesting place to be. Lack of diversity brings a dullness to life. Read the book "The Giver" to see what happens when we root for everyone to be the same and everything to be equal and the same.

We all like to think we are special, our "race" is special, regardless of what your race is. But that is simply not true. There really and truly is only one genetic pool of humans left on earth. Unless you want to deny science.

Today, modern humans, only have .1% difference in their genetic code between ALL races. Modern humans all have common ancestors. We are all basically the same.

True. Like this family in Africa.

ever been to the Seychelles? Oriental, Black, European have been mixing there for centuries...still have plenty of genetic expression on all sides and plenty of beautiful "mixed."

Genetics doesnt work like mixin paint Im afraid.

Yeah my point was going to be "so are you talking about photoslop or something with the mixing colors thing?"
I guess it could have been an orange man thing - just spray on whatever color pallette you want...

This will not solve racism if that is what you think.

Humans are always looking for ways to prove their identity group is superior to other identity groups.

Just look within one group: Caucasian people: they call each other - Hillbillies - Southern hicks - libtards - KKK - Nazi's - Redneck - White Trash - Neanderthal - wops - kykes - huns - frogs - polacks, all sorts of things.

Everyone can "look" alike but it won't end identity groups from deciding their group is superior to other groups. Which is human nature, even if you don 't like it.

Read the children's book "The Giver" perhaps the most important book of the 21st Century, NOT the movie, the movie is a pablum version of the truth of what happens when society insists that everyone be alike and complete equality of resources, and complete equality of everything. It is not pretty and I think, fairly accurate based on human psychological makeup. They had to keep people drugged and under 24/7 surveillance to keep them content with everyone being exactly the same. To keep complete and total equality in every aspect of society, they had to kill those who didn't fit in. But tell the people and those being "moved on to a better place", that the people killed were being sent to a better place where they would fit in.

People are not going to change in the direction of being nice to each other all the time because that is not the psychological nature of Human Beings. That is why we have religion, to try and get them to be nice and come to some sort of moral consensus - but since modernism has totally and completely abandoned "love your neighbor" and the 10 Commandments as repressive and oppressive, we have no real consensus as a basis for how to treat each other.

As a matter of fact how to treat each other now changes every few years. For example, it is now deemed part of social justice and positive morality to beat up anyone with a certain red hat on regardless of their race, gender, gender identity or age.

We agree it won't solve racism.

However, I don't see a positive really come out of it.

People will find other ways to form identity groups that will decide they are superior to other identity groups. Unfortunately that is the nature of human beings. Without a consensus of a moral base, with morality changing at a fast and furious rate - it will only morph into a new way of being hostile and mean to each other.

I see a positive. Peeps not being judged on the colour of their skin and removal of the false bases for the existence of race in human beings.

when i can see the difference i still won't care about it. we are all earthlings. our petty sub-divisional angsts, whether racial, religious or political, are an impediment to true progress.

Yeah but the devil is in that tiny detail,

Besides, we are mushroom people. We all came from the same mushroom.
So there is that.

Personally, i know we are not homogeneous as a species, and it is a wonderful thing,
the aboriginal people especially are interesting.

You know what is truly special about humans? The fact that we are not all the same.
