Two years ago, in the early days of the Russia investigation, many Republican senators said collusion with a foreign government to influence an American election would be a betrayal of the United States. They didn’t believe Donald Trump had solicited campaign help from Russia. But they agreed that if he had, it was illegal and perhaps impeachable. Today, some of those senators—notably, the committee chairmen responsible for protecting national security and the rule of law—have renounced that principle. They now assert, in the case of Ukraine, that collusion is OK.

slate.com...

I find this disturbing, and very much a change of position for republicans.

How can you claim that it is a crime one day, and then say it is ok the next?

Are Trump supporters suggesting that it is all cultural relativism, that morals and laws change depending on who is in office?

If a democrat did this the republicans would be investigating for possible impeachment, but when Trump does it it is ok.

Does that sum it up?

What collusion.

What I see is Democrats saying we need to be tough on corruption and it NEEDS to be investigated even with almost no evidence .. then it comes to Biden and they scream no.

Why are you against seeing if what Biden did was wrong? He bragged about getting the guy fired. Him being fired saved his son from investigation. You see no conflict there?

Trump did this exactly how it should be done. Behind the scenes and not constant fake news reporting. Wait until the investigation is done so we have the actual facts before we broadcast it.

Collusion is a crime when it is a Conspiracy to usurp the American Constitution by asking foreign governments to become involved in the electoral process of the US. Trump admitted to this crime btw.

I am not, investigate them both. Democrats refuse to investigate Biden and only want Trump.

And slate is hugely bias and a source of constant fake news.

Here is my question, if Trump received word Biden used his power to get his son out of trouble, do you think Biden should get away with it because he is running for President?

You already intimated you think Biden should be investigated ... so Trump did what you thought he should do.

'Collusion' falls under the big double standard. Just like nepotism, cronyism, etc, etc.
When one party engages in it, they justify it. "We didn't do anything wrong!"
When the other party does the same damn thing, it's suddenly illegal, immoral, and treasonous.

Trump "conspired" to "collude."

Solicited help from a foreign power to find dirt on a political opponent to personally help him in the 202 elections using US Taxpayer money to extort.

As I understand things.

Yes, Biden was part of a multi nation effort to get the prosecutor that was lax in going after corruption fired.

Where you are wrong is that it saved his son from investigation. The investigation into Burisma occurred 1-2 years before Hunter was hired.

Burisma, in an effort to clean up it's act, hired outside of the company to make sure it followed any laws. One of the people hired was Hunter Biden.

So unless you claim that Joe Biden has magical powers to see into the future. There's no truth to the claim that Joe Biden fired the prosecutor in order to protect his son.

This claim at best is a lame conspiracy.

Except you are. Trump wants it done and you yell and scream he can't do that it's wrong. So just stop giving mixed signals, should Biden be investigated so Trump was right to ask for it .. or should Biden NOT be investgated so #OrangeManBad for doing it.

The answer to your question is very simple. Republicans put their party's success before the rule of law.
