Trumps army of 63 million will cry "FOUL!".

Then they will all vote for Pence over the Dims candidate, aka "Bozo The Clown".

the Senate votes to impeach (indict/accuse) the president

the Congress votes to remove from Office (penalty)

it's lke a texas two-step for the slow minded and Democrats.

One has to happen before the other but with out both, it means nothing.

NOTHING! keep that in mind.

what have the Democrats done since taking over

Nothing, and will continue do do Nothing.

It looks like stuff is getting done.

Then the dems want pence?
Perhaps that is the endgame?

???

If they are so anxious to get trump impeached, then pence would become the president, right?
Pence is beatable more so than trump in 2020?

Ok, but nothing to do with my 'What if'... no worries...

That's actually backwards, but otherwise correct except, it ignores the fact I brought out, that the Senate believes it has the power to remove from office without also imposing the ban on holding Office, so, he could, in fact, under the scenario I posit, be re-elected in 2020 even after being impeached and removed from office.

pence presents a completely different situation for the dems
he would likely also pardon trump and others pulled down with him

Wrong.

The House impeaches (accuses), the Senate holds a "trial." 2/3 vote in the Senate needed to remove a president.

Why do you think they would do that when they could just vote for Trump?

Did you read with comprehension my OP?

Well the Dims got into the paperwork and changed the whistle blower rules. So the Gops could go into the paperwork too and change those rules you just mentioned. And he could run again for a second term.

Nope. The two punishments for impeachment conviction are specified in the Constitution. They'd have to be changed by Constitutional Amendment.

Oh, and the deep state merely changed the form to reflect what the underlying whistleblower law allows (second hand info).

The law itself should absolutely be changed to require only first hand information.

Maybe - or he'd just agree to run as Trumps VP again.

Who knows? Thats why it is called a 'What if'?

The

Sorry for the confusion. My post was about if Trump could not run, that Pence could still win.

The Meltdown by the Liberal Media and establishment in 2016 will be so tiny in Comparison, They will realize the laughing stock they have become and they will lose any credibility they have with even their most ardent supporters.

No, they won’t.

They have shown no capacity for self-awareness. The posts from members on this very site show how unhinged and delusional the Left has become.

What if Trump were impeached, and the RINO senators were able to squeak out conviction+removal from office, but not a 'disqualification to hold Office' punishment?

I guess anything is possible. And I guess Polk was a bad boy?

"The House and Senate have passed over a dozen such resolutions, including resolutions condemning Presidents James K. Polk and Andrew Jackson."

You can't pardon an impeachment and NY is still waiting in the wings with multiple indictments which are not pardonable by the President.
