Policies like the NHS that has saved millions ?

one that stands in the way of privitisation and pushing big pharma trade into the UK

, what is more destructive of live , privitisation and big pharma or the NHS

I think I know which one Im choosing ..

Anyway you speak of independence , well thats exactly what Scotland will do

There is precedent. In the late 1980’s the conservatives wanted to privatise the public water supply in Scotland. The Scottish councils organised a referendum without the U.K. Governments consent and the referendum outcome was eventually accepted. Some nationalists argue that’s because sovereignty is with the people in Scotland, that the Westminster is sovereign over everything thing is a peculiarly English concept and that it doesn’t run up here. And the U.K. Government didn’t want to test it in court.

But then you’ve got UDI, doing a referendum without Westminster’s consent, getting a Yes and just telling Westminster to shove it. Have a suspicion it’ll go that way but the SNP need to be sure they’ll get international recognition for the new nation. Considerable risk with that, public disorder etc. Interesting stuff.

That is rather interesting so ultimately Scoltand could just tell the westminster no more and remove ourselves from the Union

anyway how exactly does Scotland need recognition as a new nation , when its one of the oldest sovereign nations on earth

Your postings are quite emotional right now, you're not usually like this. Why don't you sit back and process things from a neutral angle to see how they play out. Don't let your labour party get as low down and dirty as our liberal party became after Trump was elected. He's done more for this country than almost every president before him. If people would sit back and pay attention without letting their emotions get the best of them then liberals wouldn't be destroying their party from within right now.

Just something to think about, because I like you and don't want to see this engulf you.

Sappy isn't a Labour supporter, he supports Scottish independence.

The SNP took 48 of the 59 Scottish seats....on the face of it quite a mandate for IndyRef2.
But it's not quite as black and white as that.

One things for certain, Scotland does seem somewhat out of step with the rest of the UK at present.

But so many of us from all over the UK are completely disillusioned with Westminster and the current system.
And there is far, far more that unites us than what there is that divides us.

Personally I think that any break up of The British Union would be disastrous for all of us.....but Scotland will do as Scotland see's fit.

whats not to get emotional about our government have caused suffering for over 10 years now and will continue for another 5 , to ignore my emotional aspect would be to deny my humanity

I cant turn of my empathy like some of the conservatives we have in power right now.

Using my emotions will give me strength to do something about it

mate its already disasterous , ending the union will benefit every nation in the UK
by ending the current system of governance , so we can make a new union that actually benefits the 4 nations
and doesnt cause inequality.

I totally agree with you , we are of course better together as humans as equals
we have a lot to offer as a team .

But the team we have currently isnt winning , its just the directors that are winning

The Union is fine.
The Scots overwhelmingly voted to stay in the UK very recently.
If and when they get to vote again (which will not be for a few years if ever), they will vote to remain in the UK again.
The latest polling is 56%-44% in favour of remaining in the UK.
By the time they do get to vote, they'l have realised all the lies told by EU remainers never materialised and there will be zero chance the Scots will vote to leave the UK

It's a great day, be happy.
Getting yourself worked up over Scottish Independence is setting yourself up for yet another loss. Surely you are tired of losing by now?

I did not lose anything, that was unfortunately Labour.

And, technically the SNP still won, even if it was with Nicola in tow.

A second referendum might be on the cards.

So silver lining and all that jazz.

We might need to deal with that rather soon. x

Anyhoo congratulations on whatever is to come.

On the news today it was reported that Boris's win was the best result since

1987(more than three decades) and that Corbyn's labour loss was the worst result

since before the last war!!

Took me back to very recently watching John Major advising the electorate to not

vote for Boris and the conservative party (which he once led).....But.....To vote

tactically.

Got me thinking on all these pre election threads of all the people saying that

pensioners shouldn't be allowed to vote......and here is a 76 year old man advising

the electorate!!
Why was it OK for that *old man* to air his views and try to

sway the public vote? Lucky the result shows he didn't manage to sway anyone.

Retirement age is 66years of age perhaps its time to clear out all those *old

codgers* in Parliament and House of Lords and make way for some fresh young

blood and ideas.
