Flying Bird on Mars?
NASA's Curiosity Rover may have captured a flying bird on Mars, according to UFO conspiracy theorist Scott C. Waring. In one of a series of images taken by Curiosity on June 24, 2019, an anomalous object appears in the sky above the Martian landscape."This flying bird on Mars was found by Marcelo Irazusta.

Images from NASA Curiosity rover shows a bird on Mars

Guess it aint over til some bird of prey flies!

After 15 years of some nearly 40 engines powered by only some 130 watts of power, Curiosity on Mars is being retired, as NASA can afford new rovers this time dedicated to 'look for life'.

But not before it captured an anomoly in the sky. Looks like a bird, but of course its not cause its on Mars, not Devon Island in Canada. so its just pareidolia.

Interesting pic but as you say, it couldn't be a bird.

Not sure flight using lift would work with such a thin atmosphere.

probably a space force UAV, snapped by accident on a recce or somesuch. i'm fairly sure there's been a long-standing human military/science presence on mars. underground bases etc.

The rover is probably still on Earth.

Its always about money

You can see a lot of junk in the black and white images on Mars. They pop up time to time. They're probably just gamma ray strikes or glitches in the transmission. Here's one I posted about the other day on the 17th:

The dot in the middle was in the preceding image, but the white and black dots were not. Or these:

Here's one from a couple of Sols ago.

indeed

50+ years and they don't even bother try to make it real, not much better than 50yr prior

I mean, spiders, squirrel, and now a bird right before retiring Curiosity.

we're supposed to be bird brains being mocked, guess.

no wonder some called the bird an Eagle.

Curiosity on Mars is being retired

Not sure where this info is coming from. Do you have a link for that info.

new rovers this time dedicated to 'look for life'.

The 2020 rover will only look for markers of past life.

After 15 years

Curi has not been on Mars 15 years.

I sure hope the info about Curi being retired is wrong. I can't believe NASA would do that.

It's just a smudge on the emulsion.

NASA,

BTW, Curiosity is on going, well over the mission period.

Opportunity seems to be the rover of 15 years, now ended....seems to be some confusion here.

I’ve never heard of the rover being on Devon island.
I just googled it and found a picture from Devon island being compared to the “mars landscape”
Very interesting.
I have access to daily updated satellite imagery.
I’m going to check it out tomorrow in the office.

Has been covered here before, you can search, I don't have time to look.

This should tickle a fancy, it's Devon Island...fake or fanciful?

Jeesh. Anyone can tell that is not a bird. It is a bug close to the rover. Are they going to change the name the area where they took all these rover pictures Rover county? I wonder how far the closest town to this location is, I am sure the people filming all this aren't going to go too far from a Restaurant.

Years ago the Mars thread on here someone showed a bird looking object and it moved through frames so it was really in the sky and moving whatever it was.

Debunked - This is a chip in the lens, go view some Curiosity images and school yourself. That chip has been there for years.

I don't think it's a bird or any thing on the scene, but something created directly on the sensor.

If you look closely at the "object" you can see that it appears to be made of two parts, with the lower part a perfect rectangle with sharp edges.

No blurring of the edges means that it was not captured through the lens, if it were it would show some blurring. Even rocks close to the cameras always show some blurring, so something that doesn't show any blurring was obviously created in the sensor, either by some overloading of the cells corresponding to those pixels (showing white pixels) or the cells didn't return any reading (black pixels).

Besides that, if it was a bird then it would show motion blur, as the speed used by the cameras to take photos on Mars is relatively slow, to account for the lower light levels.

A flying Mars rock

I wasn't sure if they hop, jumped or flew 😉

This, "image glitch"

looks like it left hop marks on the Martian surface.
