It seems the Climate Change Agenda that seeks to upend the world's entire economic priorities is causing some real problems.

We have the fanatical hyper emotional side that tells us we will go over the precipice in 12 years if we don't pour trillions of dollars into their worldwide "slush" funds so they can set up big international meet and greets to talk about what needs to be done, and who is going to manage the various programs and, of course, The Money.

We have children hyperventilating and stressing over thoughts of being swallowed up in chaos and mayhem, and either drowning, starving, or burning to a crisp.

Some parents and teachers keep the narrative going by using students to stand on street corners with The-End-is-Nigh placards and You-Must-Repent-or-be-Destroyed signs. They even allow time off from class to do their preaching for them.

The PR has been superb. I don't know what public relations firms are working this, but, there is even talk of criminalizing climate deniers like Germany does Holocaust deniers.

But, some are bravely stepping forward and exposing some of the b-spit.

A group of 500 prominent scientists and professionals, led by the CLINTEL co-founder Guus Berkhout, has sent a registered letter to the Secretary-General of the UN, António Guterres. They warn the Secretary-General that “[c]urrent climate policies pointlessly and grievously undermine the economic system, putting lives at risk in countries denied access to affordable, reliable electrical energy.”

They add: “We urge you to follow a climate policy based on sound science, realistic economics and genuine concern for those harmed by costly but unnecessary attempts at mitigation.”

The European Climate Declaration sent as part of the letter to Guterres was drafted by climate ambassadors from 14 countries. The official presentation of the Declaration (including the release of the full list of signees) will be held in Oslo on October 18 during the Natural Variability and Tolerance conference. More press conferences will follow in Brussels and Rome.

The scientists underscored the importance of not rushing into enormously expensive climate action before fully ascertaining the facts.

“There is no statistical evidence that global warming is intensifying hurricanes, floods, droughts and suchlike natural disasters, or making them more frequent,” they declared. “However, CO2-mitigation measures are as damaging as they are costly. For instance, wind turbines kill birds and bats, and palm-oil plantations destroy the biodiversity of the rainforests.”

The signatories of the declaration also insist that public policy must respect scientific and economic realities and not just reflect the most fashionable frenzy of the day.

“There is no climate emergency. Therefore, there is no cause for panic and alarm,” they note. “We strongly oppose the harmful and unrealistic net-zero CO2 policy proposed for 2050.”

Letter to UN Secy.

IMO, we are doing a terrible disservice to our youth by projecting our own hyper emotional fears onto them about global warming, climate change, melting ice caps, rising oceans. This is what fanatics of end times religions do. Armageddon is just around the corner and you will be sucked away by a giant tornado or huge tidal wave or die from burning to death as the earth scorches.

Teachers and parents that do this to children are abusive, imo, plain and simple.

All scientists ARE NOT on the same page. But the push by the Agenda-makers that seek Big Climate Slush Funds to dip their power-grabbing fingers into are milking it for all its worth. Just stop it already.

They might listen if it were actually about the climate, but it is about consolidation of power and wealth redistribution.

I agree and love it that educated people are finally stepping up .

But this is going to go over like bacon at a bar mitzvah on the left .

You're correct, but not in the way you think. It's about the consolidation of wealth and power for the oil and gas companies that stand to lose millions of dollars if they have to change their business model.

Lets look at who CLINTEL is..

The UK’s principal climate science denial group, the Global Warming Policy Foundation (GWPF), founded by former Chancellor Nigel Lawson in the run-up to the 2009 Copenhagen climate summit, is also well-represented in the campaign.

At least four members of its Academic Advisory Council feature in the letter’s signatories, and other contributors to the GWPF have also backed the “declaration”.

German signatories to the letter include a spokesperson for the European Institute for Climate and Energy (EIKE), which a Der Spiegel investigation earlier this year found had been working closely with the insurgent, far-right Alternative for Germany party to campaign against action on climate change.

In addition to the Cato Institute's Richard Lindzen, the list features numerous figures from US-based libertarian groups, including Patrick Michaels of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, and Charles Battig and Willie Soon from the Heartland Institute, which provides a total of 12 signatures alone. All three organisations are members of the Atlas Network, a Koch-funded international umbrella body of free-market groups.

Other UK signatories include directors and former directors of lesser-known oil and gas companies, as well as five Fellows of the Geological Society, a professional body representing Earth scientists.

It's ironic that the same people who say there's a left-wing climate change conspiracy see no conspiracy in groups like the Kochs and oil companies backing anti-science groups such as this.

The header needs changing its science deniers not scientists.
English language is a real problem for many here.

So who is funding Greta?

You understand that the oil cartel have a needed product that the world values to sell.....right?

And so the makers of turbines and solar panels and electric cars....not so much and the government is subsidizing all of the it with tax dollars .....right.

And that without a climate scare, the oil cartel would still be selling oil.....and the alternative energy people would be doing what?

This climate emergency denial group is run by a Shell Oil guy (and decidedly not made up of prominent scientists). Good lord.

We really don't know. Because oil as a product has a stranglehold on the world economy. And the people who produce it want to keep it that way. Which is why they fund anti-science groups like the one in the OP to drive a supposed counter argument to something the majority of scientists on Earth agree is happening.

It's laughable to think that renewable energy companies have the reach or funding to pay off scientists and create groups on the level of the entrenched billion dollar oil industry.

There is a conspiracy to promote an agenda. But it isn't from the renewable energy people.

The efforts of all the renewable energy people in the world has not reduced the use of oil at all. The oil companies have absolutely no fear at all and no reason to fund anti-science.

The government has a lot of reasons to fund anti-science. New sources of taxation and control of population are just two of them.

Now if I was an oil company and I thought I could make money in renewable energy, why would I just not sell both oil and renewables?

Pffft...you didn't really expect anyone in the cult of the Left to take these scientists seriously, did you?
See above replies.

They are not interested in hearing from anyone with a differing opinion. and Greta is their leader.

There's no doubt that there is deceit going on the question of....well I think it's been modified a couple of times to climate change from the original AGW.

Just yesterday on BBC news, they did a CO2 report following the UN conference, with the reporter standing by a TV screen showing what were actually steam towers, it's not the first time this has happened, the BBC have guidlines on visuals, and this type of deceit is not allowed by their own rules.

It's good to see that this new grouping can at least, act as a watchdog hopefully with some clout...and keep a close eye on the IPCC, whose methodology on making the annual reports themselves, is wanting.

Oil companies do not have a stranglehold on the world. Think of you life without oil and oil products. You don't have to imagine very hard at all...just read up what life was like in the Victorian Age.

Oil companies sell a product that enhances your life in a very very fundamental way.

I would suggest that the "climate scare" would dissolve that cotton candy in the rain if the oil companies declined to sell their products for just 2 or 3 months.

The little girl is most assuredly not their leader. She is, at best, a useful tool in their minds.

To my mind, she's a scared child who has been brought up to believe that the world is doomed tomorrow.

They sound remarkably like the kids back in the 80's who were nearly catatonic from fear of nuclear annihilation. Nuclear psychosis, is a phrase I recall hearing.

The resemblance is remarkable...oddly enough, it's the same folks trying to act as the harbingers of doom now, that harped on the absolute certainty of nuclear Armageddon then.

Whether you believe in Climate Change or not.

Pollution control is something we need to seriously consider and control. If Rampant pollution can cause major health risk. Then even small levels will cause minor health problems. This is something we can control ourselves.

Pollution is a big problem. And the people crying about global warming should start by cleaning up their own neighborhoods. maybe then i will believe they give a crap about anything other than virtue signalling and preaching to others.
