I was a geology and earth science major and this is the opposite of what I was taught. The earth is supposedly 5.6 billion years old with humans around for maybe 10 percent of that.

Humans have been around for 560,000,000 years?

I don't know the exact numbers, but i remember my professor stretch his arms to the side and said if this was the time line of earth,
Humans would have been around what would Make up the tip of his finger.

And during that long time, earth went through ice ages, hot ages.
And without human interaction, humans can damage and help things stay clean.

But everything is fair game if a asteroid hits, if the earth's moves too close or too far from sun. continental drift and collision. Volcano eruptions that can pollute the sky and black out the sun.

People need to understand that before humans. Natural lighting strikes wood set entire Forrests on fire, no fire fighters to put them out.

Fires that would burns for months and even years,.producing more co2 then humans can ever.

Even today there are natural fires around the world that have been burning And letting off co2 for over 50 years.

Got to keep the libs busy on impossible tasks , they should try and put those fires out with buckets.

Just keep them busy and make them believe they are helping. They are not so bright

But all the money spent so far has made things worse, not better

1 replace fossil fuel with bio fuel (corn oil or palm oil) ...
result - less fuel efficiency, more air pollution as the mixed fuel burns, expanded farming to grow bio fuels results in ineffecient land use, more fossil fuel used to grow the bio fuel than is replaced by bio fuel, killer air pollution as field stubble is burned. Burning of the Amazon rain forest puts jungle medicine and cultures at risk

Go ahead - explain to me how this idea made the world better. The damage from this idea has been known for decades but its politically correct so no one wants to stop. Tell me again, how this makes for a "better" world. Tell it to the children dying from the smoke.

Turbines and solar panels to generate renewable electricty -
tell it to the dead birds, look at environmental damage in China from mining of rare metals.

Recycling -
Tell the children in third world countries who provide the slave labor

The warming is there for all to see.

But by all means continue to do the bidding of your Elite masters. Good little slaves to money should never ever question what they are told. Coal is Good. Oil is Good. Science is Bad. Repeat .....

I agree, a lot of what we are trying to do isn't working as expected, because so far too few politicians or world leaders accept science. There is no money in science. And most of them will have retired with a few billions in the bank before the results of their inaction or misaction come home to roost.

Palm oil is a good example. But there is money in palm oil. Go figure .....

No - I don't forgive so easily

You are the one who put up the cartoon about a better world....and it is not. We have all be bankrupted chasing alternative technologies down the rabbit whole

The work and saving of two generations have been wasted and the next generations will have to pay for it.

Global warming was a fraud to foist a one world solcialist government on us and nothing more. It will fade away like Y2K

It' religion for the agnostic crowd. I believe in science and since "they all say" climate change will kill us I must follow. And we thought lemmings were silly.

How about taking responsibility for the choices you supported?

Substituting palm oil and corn oil for fossil fuel has resulted in increased pollution, land eco-system destruction (Indonesia and amazon rain forests) and death to little children.

It is an industry that is supported and funded by climate change taxation.

Where is your march and activism to demand that it be stopped.

Where is your activism? Who are you to call anyone a slave and put up silly cartoons about a better world unless you are willing to speak up on this issue.

Don't you care about mother earth?

I'm not sure if this is parody or a cry for help.

Do you know how much money was spent preventing Y2K?

The first time I ever heard of global warming was the Billy Meiers UFO contact papers from the 50' s. The Pleiadians guided his hand to transcribe their warnings on man-made climate change and global warming. This topic has been going around for a long time. It was originally popularized in UFOlogy. It amazing how ufology is so mainstream today.
Maybe they should have addressed the importance of cleaning up Fukushima on the world platform of the U.N.

My take is that it all boils down to the effect that the eaters have on the rich and powerful's lifestyles.

What's wrong with people? Why do they think corrupt Politicians can control the climate and stop the apocalypse? IT"S INSANE!!

Yeah. Pretty much like Trumpets voting to make Murikkka great again, eh?

However. I don't think you understood the implications of Greta's speech. People don't trust their corrupt politiclowns hence the "how dare you" and millions of them on the streets.

Get it?

Good to see people are aware of the issues with palm oil (something I have been campaigning against for as long as I can remember)

Shame they also think the millions of deaths from air pollution - with coal being a primary culprit - every year is a fair price to pay to help their beloved Elite get richer.

In 2015 alone, Indonesia had 1.3 million deaths caused by non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Air pollution from coal is considered to be a direct cause of several NCDs and, therefore, continued investment in coal power plants represents a disregard for the negative consequences that burning coal brings to society. Moreover, China and India have shown the world the great damage coal brings to citizens’ health, and Indonesia now has a chance to avoid their path.

In China, according to the World Health Organization, ambient air pollution was responsible for 1.1 million deaths in 2016. Similarly, in India, air pollution contributed to 1.2 million deaths in 2017. A University of Chicago study reports that air pollution in India reduces life expectancy by 5.3 years on average. In some Delhi districts, the reduction in life expectancy—12 years—is the worst in the world. All those numbers indicate us that the huge reliance on coal and the great amount of deaths linked to air pollution is clearly not a coincidence.

www.iisd.org...

But hey, we don't want clean air. We want the rich to get richer. And that's all that matters.

You have a slanted view

Bio fuels serves no earthly use whatsoever. Its all con and no pro.

Yes coal may cause death from air pollution. That is the con. here is the pro.....millions and millions of so-called healthy people don't die from the cold in the winter.

See how that works. You have some death of mostly old and sick people compared to preventing the deaths of millions.

Its not perfect. Little in the adult world is. Of course technology allows us to control pollution and prevent unnessary death but trust me renewable energy is unstable and won't protect the healthy from dying.

Great thread.

Planet saving could well be used as a form of control, and probably will be to a certain extent.

The issue is though, consumerism is the bedrock of the economy. If you try to impose some kind of quota system (post war communism style) where a family gets say 1 car every 10 years, a mobile phone every 5, a holiday every 3, you have just destroyed your economy. We live in Corporatocracy these days. The economic and political systems are controlled by corporations. Unless they see some way to make money in a post consumerism age, it's never going to happen.

Sure, no one is arguing that these things don't occur naturally. I still think it's foolish to say mans footprint, doesn't also have an effect, not just CO2, but other toxic gases, metals..etc.

Sanders is a huge hypocrite. He should put his money where his mouth is and redistribute 90% of his wealth to the poor illegals. If Climate Change is so dire, why does he have a giant home with likely huge heating bills? Why didn’t he invite the homeless to stay with him?
Communism for thee and not for me must be his slogan.

Of course. Let's not be slobs, but let's not push emergency climate propaganda.
And then u.s. seems like a leader in pollution and garbage control.
Not the best, but talks about making America more green, when it seems 80% of the world are 100 years behind when it comes to recycling?

Shouldn't these libs be helping other countries not attacking the u.s. which has a good system
