Can AI create better priests? Are we prepared to worship via machines rather than fallible humans? A Villanova University professor believes a post-human priesthood has its advantages.

www.zdnet.com...

The idea that AI robots can be priest is a concept I had not even considered until reading this article. Not sure how a robot can pray to the human god but that is it seems the premise of the article.

A robot is necessarily programmed by somebody, who may attach a camera.

Do priests (or protestant counterparts (ie pastors, ministers, etc) have to actually pray or just preach it?

I say try it out first in Vegas for weddings and see how long they last..

However in the world does this silliness propagate? Is there really so little of interest left in the world that Professors at Universities have to make up crap like this? Worse, at least from my perspective, how is it thaat ATS has sunk to this depth?

And the stunning thing is that its obvious this professor doesnt even understand what a Priest is and is ignorant of the fact that Protestants dont have priests, they have ministers. Of courrse that isnt universally true, the C of E and the Episcopalians have "Priests", but they are not actually Sacremental Priests. Same is the case with the Lutherans I suppose.

Glad I am not in Uni these days.

Can they take over fast food first?

I rather a robot make my cheaply produced product rather than some kid with face tats who is waiting for his soundcloud to take off.

Thanks professor.

It's easy to understand why the lowest SAT scores always seem to have the highest grad rates when the field of study is Education.

It's certainly no coincidence.

Protestants don't have priests we have typically ministers or pastors.

So what the hell Catholic Robot priests have to do with us is quite frankly beyond me.
