You missed some men not having the right to vote, you missed WW1 and women working, you missed non land owners, you missed everything that counters your argument

Can't help you, I won't, believe what you want
And a lucky Google search, well done you
Exactly what Google wants you to believe

Crazy argumentative people always get what they want? Really?
Common sense out the window, this is ats after all

Actually, I covered land ownership, I addressed women working, and men not having the vote is not the topic here. The topic is whether Islam is right about women. Is it? Do you, Raggedyman, feel that Islam is Right about Women? In their treatment of Women? Or do you feel Islam is Wrong about Women, and its treatment of Women?

God, I swear, you're just spare parts, aren't ya, bud?

Yeah, you show more restraint than me. I pretty much started flaming immediately.

You flamed me with a lucky Google search

and if you quote something like THIS...

…Up until women’s suffrage, a man was the head of his marriage and his household, and his vote represented not just himself but his entire family, including his wife and his children. When men voted, they were conscious of the fact that they were voting not just for themselves and their own personal interests, but they were also charged with the responsibility of discerning and making the ultimate decision about what was in the best interests of their entire family…

As soon as the 19th amendment was passed, men were effectively castrated, and in many, many cases disenfranchised by their wives. No longer was the man the head of the household. No longer was he responsible for his wife. Now the wife was a “co-husband” at best, or a flat-out adversary at worst. The notion of a man making the final decision about what was best for his wife and family per his God-given vocation as husband and father was now over…

Women are made with a healthy, innate desire to be provided for and protected…women want someone or someTHING to take care of them. For this reason, women tend to lean socialist, and are generally in favor of the expansion of government when the government promises to “provide” for them.

Then I am going to flame you off the thread.

To be fair here, it can be argued that that was the key catalyst moment in start of the degradation of the American nuclear family that lead to the divorce-happy, babymama/babydaddy-happy, trail-of-broken-relationships sad sack that America has become today.

Flame the hell away, ya damn teacup.

One cannot simultaneously defend Islam (labeling those who speak out against it as 'Islamophobic') AND promote feminism or women's rights (labeling those who speak out against it as 'misogynistic').

This is the most hysterical demonstration of that fact I've ever seen. If you didn't laugh out loud while watching the videos in the OP, you've been programmed by the MSM and PC culture to the point that you're basically beyond repair.

Hence why most people were just confused, didn't know which group to defend or denounce and just felt that in some way whoever put up the signs should be punished.

It's such a fragile tower of "oppression" they've built that there really is no "right" answer and no way not to pull one brick without toppling the whole mess.

It's a wonderful example of "intellectual stupidity".

Oh, there's a right answer. Trouble is there's also a left answer.

Of course there is a right answer, it's a simple yes or no with no "buts".

The left just doesn't have that luxury at this point, because they have to quantify a simple statement into the whole of their ideology.

Islam is a faith. Muslims are a people.

Well much like your argument it was more warm and cosy than a flame
Come on busy, do your research

Common sense tells you, people acting like idiots doesn’t gain them respect
Women’s and men’s right to vote was gained by reason and understanding

In Britain, men who didn’t own land didn’t get the right to vote till 1918, same year as women who didn’t own land got the right to vote
Women who did own land had the right to vote before 1918

Flamed me, you kidding
You must be a feminist, crazy woman who is told a narrative and believes it because it’s what you want to hear

You're close.

You should shrivel up and die in a ditch because you are everything wrong with the world.

If only we could be free of the evil white straight tolerant male. Then, utopia and world peace could prevail......

First sensible post you've had. And in due kind I will call an end to hostilities from my end and hope to begin a sensible dialogue.

There is a phrase over here in the states, and it's largely in reference to the war for independence, and is attributed to the statesman Thomas Jefferson. It says "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots..." and a lot of the time you'll see this quote without it's addendum "...and tyrants."

Your statement that "men gave women the vote" is incorrect. Women were restricted from the vote by men, and upon the Women's Suffrage movement's success, that right was restored. You are welcome to dispute this, but I assert that women were restricted from voting. If you have evidence to the contrary, I will hear it.

I made a couple attempts to point out the ridiculousness of your statements. I suggested that King George intentionally lost the war with the colonies by sending ham-handed generals. In such a way he would have "given" American Independence.

I suggested that General Lee, having lost the American Civil War a month previous, had "reunified the Nation" by winning the battle of Palmito Ranch, suffering no losses. This is a true fact. The "last battle" of the American Civil War was won by the Confederates, killing 118 Union soldiers and losing none. Would you consider it ridiculous, then, to say that the Confederates "reunified the Nation?"

You downplay the effect that the Suffragettes had on the Women's Suffrage movement, calling it "loony" and asserting that it actually delayed women's right to vote being restored. You're just dead wrong on that. I think I've demonstrated that. And tricky arguments that "married households" were nullified in favor of unmarried people, younger, "dumber" people is similarly unwarranted because you don't account for married couples which AGREE on politics! If, as your contemporaries assert, that men have spent thousands of years lording over their women, don't you think that a certain portion of those women, indoctrinated as such, would vote as their husband votes? Wouldn't women's suffrage, then further EXACERBATE the problem of unequal representation towards women? Or would those two effects cancel, with the progressive-leaning women voting against their husbands, and the slave-like women voting with them? See, you don't know, and you won't know, because it's all just speculation.

Meanwhile, all along, better data has been collected with respect to male vs/ female voting patterns, and you know what was found? It doesn't matter! Males and Females vote pretty much down partisan lines, proportional to their upbringing. Younger people tend to be progressive, older people tend to be conservative. Young, college educated people tend to be rabidly progressive, but that could be an indoctrination effect. Older, college educated people tend to be more conservative. You want to know why? Because people aren't slaves to their biology anymore, and we haven't been since probably the discovery of fire. Since we evolved. Now we make decisions based upon our experience. That, is by far, the most progressive notion, and it is right and good.

So please admit that you had no idea I was flaming you from my first post regarding the King sending ham-handed generals. It would go a long way.

It's all our burden to bare, having done nothing wrong at all.

But, eventually the bell tolls and we have to atone for our imaginary sins as per the imaginary reality of our "betters".
