Bernie in 1987 felt that a Medicaid for all type plan would bankrupt the nation

But I think what we understand,” Sanders proudly proclaims:

“Is that unless we change the funding system and the control mechanism in this country to do that. For example, if we expanded Medicaid [to] everybody. Give everybody a Medicaid card – we would be spending such an astronomical sum of money that, you know, we would bankrupt the nation.”

Video is at the link

So I wonder how Bernie now thinks his plan of Medicare for all will be different?

Isn’t his argument we need an entirely new system rather than just making the current system available to all, else it will bankrupt the country?

Geez 1987 bernie, that’s my exact criticism of 2019 Bernie’s plan as well.

I take it he now plans to "change the funding system and the control mechanism"? Not really contradicting himself IF that is the case.

Different Bernie
That was pre Mandela Bernie
New Bernie much better Bernie

Can't a guy evolve?

Also, all we need to do is slash the military budget, which is really just all about world domination, and then boom - there's the funding!

As far as I n ow, he still plans on having the tax money that goes to government health care programs (funding) and the same parts of the government implement (control mechanism)

At the very least, he is knowledgeable and believed reasonable people such as himself could believe a Medicare or Medicaid for all program would bankrupt this country

So instead of being indignant to people that question how we will pay for his plan, he should understand them and explain exactly how he will change the funding and control mechanism

People can evolve sure

For example, a personI was pro choice, now I’m pro life, etc

How can you go from thinking something will bankrupt the country, to thinking it’s great?

That’s not a judgement call

He was wrong with his facts then or now, his evolution doesn’t change that

Now Bernie is advocating medicare-for-all. Medicare is more expensive than Medicaid because the benefits are better.

Bernie is a career politician, he panders to his base just like any other politician. He's on the establishment's payroll just like every other person in Washington.

The establishment doesn't want universal healthcare, it would cut too far into the medical industry's profits and they have deep pockets for lobbying.

The NWO are pushing for Universal Credit. It's already here in the UK.

The idea is to tempt people with free money and they don't have to lift a finger to get it.

"They can pursue their dreams"!

Little do they know that they are setting up future generations for a dystopian nightmare.

Bernie is an obvious tool...

I think you can bank on that being his plan in the end.
He spent his honeymoon in the USSR.

Give it time.

Edit To Add: It's not about pandering to his base. It's about throwing the idea out there to see how many minions latch on to it. Like bait...

Bernie is an old white man who has been
paid well by his communist handlers.

I look forward to his demise after the
2020 election.

Well you can’t expect him to be consistent, he’s still a dem at the end of the day.

I think he wants to fundamentally change the "funding system" and "control mechanism" , so it's not really hypocrisy.

They will tax the snot out of everyone (like Warren refusing to answer whether or not her plan will raise taxes on middle-class families. She just repeats "families will have lower healthcare costs" axiomaticly) and eliminate more personal liberties to pay for a Medicare for all system.

I tried to look for a flaw in that statement and I couldn't find one.

Entitlements and unfunded liabilities far outweigh the military budget!
