All this shows is what good little sheep these future democrats they will be. No proof that anybody did anything, but they'll demand somebody hang because of it.
These will be the people that when Big Brother tells you to watch and report your neighbor if he doesn't tow the party line.

No one came forward. School admin had no idea and had never been informed of anything. I love how you still think it happened. Thank you for highlighting exactly what I was saying.

Scary.

I think they used to call 'em mobs.

Y'know, these are the same sort of sheep that used to burn out Jews in Europe in the Middle Ages. Or witches. Or anyone accused with little, or no, evidence, usually the latter, of wrong doing...

Isn't it good to see that little has changed over the past few hundred years??

This is just one example of a wider social problem that is not limited to the democratsliberals. We've already seen multiple people being killed because of viral social media posts. For example people being beaten to death due to fake child abduction stories being assed around social media in India.

The social media generation is too quick to believe what the read, too slow to take a critical look at what the read, and to fast to anger over things that are easy to debunk.

I've seen it on this forum dozens of times. People flying into a rage over click bait post titles for things that are often impossible or extermely unlikely to be real. Or which only have the most tenious link to the title (like posts about murders where the title attributes it to an illegal immigrant , but the actual post doesn't mention race or immigration status).

Maybe its time we expanded joint enterprise to cover mob mentality on social media. Have people take responsibility for forwarding fake posts as a co-conspirator.

Or did it change and we are experiencing a regression.

I'd sure like to know when false accusations, and the like weren't a thing...

I've certainly never heard of such a time, or place. Regression? No. We've, as a whole, never out grown it in any shape, fashion, or form.

Always. This is something else. I never heard of protesting when you don't know who did it, who it was done to, but you know for sure it happened. The way people are looking to be offended today is something that didn't exist at this level when I was in school.

Throughout history there are many instances of this very thing. Usually bloody, usually aimed at favorite scapegoats.

Look at the "reasons" behind many pogroms in Middle Age Europe, and not just against Jews. Or even vigilante justice "cleaning up" towns in the western United States in the 19th century. Or the south during Jim Crow.

There have always been mobs waiting to be lead around by the nose, and aimed at "we know someone is bad, or done something wrong..." Whether they're really there, or not.

Now, in this age of instant communication, the mobs are quicker to form, but no less stupid, ill-informed, and easily lead.

Solution is simple. Either you provide source on your reporting or it is fake news, unless you are a wistleblower, in that case we roll the dice.

Everyone that shared it should be liable for libel.

Here let me give an example, read the following as though you had not read this line.

“Sources close to Joe Biden denies intention of dropping out of race for personal reasons.”

That could be a click bait title. A subliminal that Biden might drop out for non-personal reasons or a multitude of things. It carries the same weight and substance as this social media post did. Some could read that blurb and lose support for Biden on fears that he might drop and he actually lose polling points.

That is why ATS has a T&C for a long time and one of the biggies is about knowingly posting false information.

Nice town it would seem... Population 33,000+ and only 3 murders since 2003. Overall Crime Score is 83, national average is 280. Majority of the city went for Trump... Hmmm, interesting. Might have to visit this place.

Allegations that a male New Hampshire high school student sexually assaulted a dozen female students — and that educators knew and failed to act — circulated on Snapchat, prompting students to walk out in protest last week. But investigators say "no crimes" seem to have been committed.

The allegations spread among students at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, according to Derry Police Capt. Vern Thomas, who said rumors that the student sexually assaulted a dozen female students quickly spread on the social media app.

So someone makes up a fake story, and all the kids go crazy about it. This is what happens when Democrats create a world where they push guilty until proven innocent.

No crime happened. Nothing was ever reported. It was all made up. But students were appalled a life was not ruined as a result of the lies. No investigation necessary. Who was assaulted? They had no idea. Who did it? No clue. But something happened to someone and they wanted their blood.

“She also stated that she had no personal information about the sexual assaults and merely re-posted something she read. She had no idea who may be a victim or suspect or any details of a crime," the police chief said in a news release. “We don’t know where it came from. She claims that she re-posted something that she read."

The rumors sparked a protest from a group of students who "participated in a demonstration between classes," a spokesperson for the school, Julia Mitchell, told the Union Leader in a statement.

www.foxnews.com...

Good thing they protested this injustice.

Sorry but when it comes to sexual assault... it's been guilty until proven innocent since .... forever. It is typically something that happens between two people and is almost always a he said-she said scenario.

That is every High School ever, forever. Snapchat just being the latest medium for the rumor mill.

Interesting that you think this a Democrat Plot to ruin the reputation of a male student at Pinkerton Academy in Derry New Hamphsire?

Perhaps the Democrat Overlords have gotten their hands on a time machine and discovered this boy was going to become President some day and decided to alter the timeline by having some kids start a rumor on Snapchat?
