I have never owned an AR-15.

I have two rifles, two hand guns. A 1911, and a Roughrider Army Colt for pistols and a .22 Savage bolt action and a Winchester 30-32 (1957) model 1895 just because it is so effing awesome!.

But since Beebloop O'Rourke wants the po-po to break into homes, confiscate legally owned property in the name of the government, I think I might buy one.

I have no desire to shoot one, to pour some bullets through one. Never desired one before.

But this dick-head wants to take them away and that chaps my ass.

So, might spend a little coin this month.

Just to say "#### you, asshole".

Yeah, I'm not down with his whole idea either: "We're taking your AR." I'm cool with a purchase ban, but a confiscation? Nope.

This from an M1 carbine and M1A owner.

So should our government ban the sale of M1s as well?

After all, it IS a military weapon...

So it's inherently bad.

Another delusional Dem dumpster fire sh!tshow last night.
They get crazier every debate.
Beat-me-Oh can say whatever he wants, which is a natural side effect of whatever pills he is on.
Hell he might as well just say he is going to confiscate our refrigerators if he gets elected, which there is a big #ing ZERO chance of anyway.

That was kinda my point.

They are both, technically, semi-auto assault weapons.

They should ban the sale of a gun that you own as well?

Since you're not for confiscation but are OK with a ban on the sale of one...

Just trying to sort this out in my head...

Guess we should be able to own whatever hardware the US government currently possesses. How else to defeat tyranny?

Geeshs already, just get your self a Gatling gun:
It doesn't have a magazine, it has a hopper.
It isn't a fully automatic, it is a single shot per rotation of the handle.
It's not a "big bad black rifle", it is a beautiful brass and gunmetal blue piece of functional art.
Most importantly it doesn't shoot that super deadly 5.56 military round, it has the much safer .45-70 government round.
Nobody goes on shooting rampages with a .45-70 round. I mean come on the Gatling Gun is the safest of firearms to own.

To grossly mis-quote one of our founding fathers;
"Give me Liberty with my Gatling gun"

OK I've been away on and off for a while but I had to log in to respond to this. Personally I've owned so many different rifles I've lost count but my main personal home protection firearm is the AR15. It's what I was trained to use (well M16) almost 50 years ago, it works, I've owned several of the civilian AR15 models since and if Faker O'Rourke really thinks I'm going to turn mine in then he should lay off whatever drugs he's taking. In fact I think I'll head down to Cabela's in the next couple days and pick up a few more "HIGH capacity magazines" and a several hundred more rounds of NATO 5.56 ammo.
Molon labe!

I never said *should.* Do not put words in my mouth, sweetie. I said if they were banned I'm ok with it. Confiscation, not so much.

But if they ban the sale of an AR, that would (or should) include other semi auto rifles, including an M1, even though an M1 and an M1A have two complete different rounds (similar caliber), and even though M1s have rarely been used in mass shootings.

Thanks for chiming in!

Shot the M16 when I was in, way back.

Was an okay rifle but my Winchester is what I like. Just old-fashioned I guess.

Who knows, though.

May like my next weapon, AR-15.

I think you're right its about time we seperate the guard from national services. They should serve as state sponsored militia with the benefit of national military expenditures/resources.
