I dunno. Two cats rub together and it only seems to produce more cats, not electricity.

Look I have noticed these cat rubbing up against me for what I can only attribute to static electricity intention.
Obviously cats have a different intention among-st themselves.

I believe it was Ben Franklin who discovered electricity, when he tied a cat to a balloon in a thunderstorm to power his microwave oven.

My cat one time was on the dryer pawing at the breaker box while I was attempting to install a gcfi in the kids room. My wife just happened to see it. So yeah my cat tried to zap me too.

Alberts cat discovered Electricity! Its true

wiki

Yes! Einstein loved the company of dogs and cats. Einstein had a housecat named Tiger, and he got very sad when it rained. A friend, Ernst Strauss, recalls Einstein saying to the melancholy cat on a rainy day, “I know what's wrong, dear fellow, but I don't know how to turn it off.

Schödinger's Cat generates electricity and also doesn't.

We think of the age of electricity to be quite recent, but I am certain that primitive man and even animals have encountered the phenomenon in it's natural form forever. Electric eels never made great pets, but cats did, and so the myth, then cult, then technology developed.
This is obviously not a scientific theory, merely an anthropological hypothesis, albeit absurd.

Are you Speaking here of Static Electricity generated by Petting them ? ...Hmm.......

These guys are generating electricity from darkness. Maybe there are a few cats lurking in it, too.

There are several ways to proceed. Here they are.

1. Take a cat toy and drag it around the house for an hour while the cat watches you.
2. Take out the container of Temptations and give some to the cat(s). Repeat every 5 minutes.
3. Take out a teaspoon. Tap your head 3 times with spoon and without gazing directly at the cat, spoon out exactly 2 teaspoons of food for said cat.

I think a cat would argue that they have yet to be domesticated.

I think most cats, if asked, would say that they domesticated humans.

It is an interesting theory. I will still go with cat getting domesticated due to their ability to catch mice and rats. many of our ancestors kept newly departed members of the family in their homes where the smell would attract rodents. Having a cat around would prevent those rodents from eating the deceased.

Yes, petting cats led to the discovery of electricity,
that's the hypothesis.
