Can you believe this? The Democrat-led U.S. House returned from a 6 week vacation on Monday...worked 4 days, and then left Thursday evening for a 4-day mini-vacation!

See the Sept Calendar: www.rollcall.com...

The Republican-led U.S. Senate on the other hand, is staying in D.C. and focusing on getting more conservative (Trump-friendly) justices approved, in all 50 states.

I don’t know if slamming through judges with little to no vetting is a good idea. Sounds like a corporatist wet dream and a subversion of the process.

There's plenty of vetting by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

In fact, there's 10 Democrats on that Committee.

And 3 of those Democrats on that Committee were on the Democrat stage last night !!

If any bad judges are being confirmed, we would certainly hear from those 10 Democrats on that Committee wouldn't we.

😎

We have heard time and time again about many of these candidates for judges. Maybe you are not paying attention?

Give us 10 citations of what you claim 😎

voters arent voting for trump
they are voting for the 2nd amendment
they are voting against more obamacare bs
they are voting against tax increases

Which is EXACTLY what bobble heads told voters they were voting on last time around.....and Trump lost popular vote by almost 3M and won the electoral college by only 70k over 3 states.

70k...over 3 states...Hell, whether or not Flu Season comes early can move voter turn-out by 300-400K...70K? at the never-seen-again peak of Trump's popularity?...with HRC as a candidate! and everyone saying that it was in the bag, why bother to vote.

Trump has only grown more unpopular (apart from his core 35-40% which hasn't fluctuated) since then and Dems have grown more motivated, no one sits home in 2020, plus an entirely new generation of voters that very strongly hate trump is eligible to vote.

Meanwhile many farmers have lost patience and feel kicked around, WI, MI and PA haven't seen any meaningful improvement that Trump promised them.

His approval is in the tank in every state he needs to pull off a repeat.
morningconsult.com...

It's a "fool me once" scenario..for the margin of voters who got him the 70k to win.

You guys take it personally.

If I thought Trump was going to win I'd say so.

I just don't OBJECTIVELY see that happening. It was too much of razor thin win last time under the perfect circumstances.

The democratic party as a whole is now as unpopular as the GOP, been a long time, that says a lot to me too. Might not count those chicken before they hatch. Like Bill Maher was saying the race to the extreme left might just bite em in the buttocks.

The difference between the GOP and Dems is that the wingnuts own the GOP from WH on down.

That is why the Dems remain more favorable to the general populace.

www.buzzfeednews.com... its buzzfeed so take that for what its worth but admittedly it was a pretty good read

Conservatives, meanwhile, don’t seem worried about louder voices on the left when it comes to the courts. Mike Davis, president of the Article III Project, a group founded in May to support Trump’s judicial nominations, told BuzzFeed News that the more Democrats talk about restructuring the Supreme Court and nominating judges, “they are going to enrage the Republican base, who will show up in droves.” “The Article III Project wants to pay for the left’s digital ads when they get involved in the judicial fight. Because anytime they’re talking about judicial philosophy and President Trump’s judicial nominees, the president and Republicans are always on the winning side,” Davis said.
and this

The group hasn’t shied away from its founding principle, though, which is that the only way for Democrats to undo the damage of the Trump administration is to take control of the White House and Senate and pass a law adding more seats to the Supreme Court. “Even if Democrats manage to squeak out victories and manage to squeak a couple of laws through Congress, Kavanaugh and his colleagues will rip them up,” Belkin said. “There's only one chance to get the democracy back.”
so yeah i guess we can add court packing to things the dems want and it didnt work for FDR and is as stated in the article likely to get republicans out in droves in 2020

The general populace does not want;

Open borders
Higher taxes
Higher unemployment
The negation of the oil industry
Loss of gun rights
Crappy medical care

So the left is tanking their own political system.

If people were each one square foot of dirt in the US your map might have more meaning.

In reality PEOPLE vote, not dirt, and the majority of the country voted for HRC by almost 3M. Actually the last candidate to lose the popular vote by that large a margin and still be President was Rutherford Hayes in 1876 and he was handed the presidency by a special commission. Trump delivered the worst election performance by any President in history.

If people voted for president, you might have a point.
States vote for the president, not people.

James Madison helped protect the nation against any one corrupt state or majority of the people from tainting the process. In 2016; California and the weaponized Executive Branch of Obama.

It will be interesting to see what 2020 brings.

3m votes from California and New York. States she already won.

As was already pointed out to you people of the States elect the President, not people of the country.

I actually watched most of this collection of horrors. Stray observations:

1) If VP Biden brings up the deaths of his 1st wife and his son just ONE more time in a debate I swear to sweet, snappily waltzing Jesus that I will fly east to Joe's front door with a brown paper bag filled with dog poop and a book of matches. He is essentially using them as debate armor, which is as unnerving as it is downright tacky AF.

2) Speaking of Vice Pres Biden, he sadly is just as mentally addled and physically altered as Trump. Whereas VP Biden uses botox (Beautox?), Trump all but lives in his spray-on tanning booth. And while Trump has (God himself can only how guess how much) so much going on atop his pate in a bid to convince the world and himself that he has a full head of taffy colored hair, the Veep has apperently gone in for fresh hair plug additions. It's weird and more than a bit messed up how seemingly fragile (mentally and ego-wise) both are.

It's more freaky than Dylan's recent collection of Christmas songs...and that, my friends is sayin' something.

And whatever crap emerges from that debate will meet the same fate.

You're wasting your time. The argument over the popular vote is no different than a football team playing the Crimson Tide and then complaining they should have won because they had more kicking yards. Yes, you got more kicking yards, but punts don't count.

Yes, Hillary may have gotten more individual votes, but individual votes don't count.

To change the Electoral College, one must amend the Constitution. To change the football scores, one must amend the rules. No difference. The rules are the rules.

Sorry you do not understand the rules.

And sorry you are so confused.

I responded to a poster that said "uh no" and posted a 2016 electoral map in response to me saying that the Dems won the popular vote.

That was the post explaining that it is both possible to have a map showing predominately Red AND to have almost 3 Million more votes for blue.

It is strange that wingnuts don't understand the difference and think a predominately Red Map is the same as winning the popular vote.

My post below remains 100% despite your BS deflection.
