So in the same thread where you cry about the rule of law not being followed, you argue for the violation of our Constitution?

That's not what I'm arguing at all. Find one post I've made where I've argued that Trump is illegitimate or that Hillary should be President. Hell, find one post I've made where I argue for Trump's impeachment.

I may not like the man but I accept that he's President and probably will be for another 5 years.

The point I'm making is that the move the Republicans made yesterday ultimately invalidated the votes from almost 50% of the districts in NC. That completely undermines the system we have in place.

Let's say the House Dems found a way to do a similar thing at the national level and made an important vote with no Republicans present after the Dems promised there would be no vote.

Would you still be arguing that it was just a function of our government and no harm was done?

Sounds like every Dem speech made over the last 2.5 years dont it?

You’re under the assumption that all democrats think alike and all republicans think alike.

You have no IDEA what the individuals think on any given issue.

Where are you getting that assumption from?

I'm arguing against the groupthink that seems to permeate all politicians that forces them to vote along party lines regardless of their actual ideals.

For someone supposedly against groupthink you’re awfully sure of what the represented believe in.

TYpical DNC garbage. I am happy with the results. I want the DNC utterly destroyed. And I am not kidding. The sooner the better.

So, you want something like a single authoritarian ruler or group to lead you? Something like fascism perhaps?

I don't mind any political party vying for representing its citizens. The DNC is SO FAR REMOVED FROM THAT, that is is borderline insane. I do not want insane people having any control over my life. Period. I say they should be destroyed and let something more reasonable and authentic take its place. If that takes 10 years, so be it.

Nope, never said that.

You’re the one who thinks all voting blocks think the same.

This is from your OP.:

" North Carolina has long had a reputation of being the place where Democracy goes to die in this country."

Can you elaborate a bit more on this please. According to this Dems ruled the state legislature from 1992-2013.

ballotpedia.org...

This is from another site to educate some on the difference in a democracy and a REPUBLIC.

www.thoughtco.com...

Key Takeaways: Republic vs. Democracy

Republics and democracies both provide a political system in which citizens are represented by elected officials who are sworn to protect their interests.

1. In a pure democracy, laws are made directly by the voting majority leaving the rights of the minority largely
unprotected.

2. In a republic, laws are made by representatives chosen the people and must comply with a constitution which specifically protects the rights of the minority from the will of the majority.

The United States, while basically a republic, is best described as a “representative democracy.”

The pure democracy would not protect minoirties.

Ha, I agree with you 100%

Just replace DNC with RNC

I am not even with me in your assessment, I want to replace the DNC with a new DNC that cares about real issues and the people that elect them.

So just a day after Republicans won a couple of special elections in North Carolina (precipitated by the Republicans committing voter fraud in the previous election)

So, only half fake news - since only one of the elections was a do over.

That said...

they go and pull something villainous like this. After assuring Dems no votes would be held on 9/11, Republicans went ahead and held a vote to override a veto while most legislators were at events commemorating the day.

If - I repeat, if true, it was pretty sucky, but it also is a perfect example of how messed up legislatures (state and federal) are.

In this day and age, there is absolutely no reason to ever have a bill be voted on where every single legislator is able to vote on it, whether they are in the capitol building or not.

There is simply zero reason that legislators should not be able to vote by phone or some other method remotely. None. Nada.

In fact, I'd go so far as to say that no bill should ever move forward without every legislator either having voted on it, or intentionally refusing to vote on it, whether explicitly or implicitly.

A simple rule could clarify what constitutes a valid non-vote. Give them 4 hours... 8 hours... 12 hours... 24 hours... whatever, then an automatic NO vote is recorded. Also have a process in place for challenging an automatically recorded vote, for cause (they'd have to have a good reason for being incommunicado).

Then, even after their duplicitous actions, they went a step further and tried to shut down those Dems that actually were present. They cut their mics, they tried to stop them from voting, and they tried to have them arrested.

Ummm... nothing in the linked article about that, so, I call 100% BS.

Seems that this entire story might be a figment of the Democrat governor's imagination. I'm seeing where only one Democrat was absent for the vote, and where the resolution on voting on September 11 applied to the afternoon session instead of the morning session.

Let's not take anything for granted here.

You have to do what you have to do. These dumbacrates are not pulling punches. Neither should we. 9-11 was 18 years ago... there's two generations born these last 18 years. It's time we move on a little. Hope we have some more tricks up our sleeves.

So you're basically admitting that the republicans are just as shady as the democrats? This is why I voted third party in the last election. time for some new blood, this two party system is a two headed monster, two heads one body.

Dems attend 911 anniversaries ???

You would think most would be out down playing the event and explaining to citizens why they might have deserved it.

And seriously. A lot of them do that

You have got to be freaking insane...

The whole "the GOP used voter fraud to win" was nothing but a LIE from the left and was based simply on the CLAIMS from the left whom doesn't want to admit that YOU LOST... You have done the same thing about POTUS Trump, and you have been, along many others in the left, the main proponents of FAKE NEWS when it comes to politics, including the whole "Russia collusion HOAX."

Of course it is, it was in fact the DNC/Democrats whom used a dirty tactic making claims that in the last election the Republicans won unfairly and they were able to use JUST A CLAIM FROM DEMOCRATS WITHOUT ANY FACTUAL EVIDENCE to give the election to a democrat... That was the real dirty tactic, and they are obviously trying to once again use nothing but CLAIMS to give themselves the vote...

Democrats will not stop at anything. Some years back I posted evidence in several threads that democrats were using dirty tactics to win votes, including giving citizenship status to people whom were supposed to be deported. Yet the left claimed this was not true, or that "these were only some isolated cases."

Now the left OPENLY give illegals driver licenses which in many democrat cities/states automatically gives them the right to vote. How many democrat/socialists running for POTUS are calling to give all illegals the "right to vote even in our Presidential elections"?

We have even illegals OPENLY in positions of power in places like New York and California and for some reason the law has stopped working in such democrat cities/states, and not even the Federal government is able to do anything about it.
