What gets me about this is that the recent deaths associated with vaping have nothing to do with e-cigarettes and nicotine vapes. It's black market THC vapes that are causing it.

It's not just Trump. I heard about the problems with vaping long before I found out that they are black market THC juice problems. Heck, that anti-truth group that calls themselves "truth.com" has been running ads for a year or more saying how "dangerous" vaping is! Do they mention THC or black market? Hell no. That post was not intended to excuse this potential move by Trump. I am as upset over his statement as you are (OK, maybe not quite as upset, but upset nonetheless). I am well aware this won't stop with flavorings... these fools behind the anti-nicotine drive won't stop until every tobacco plant and every strand of tobacco DNA is so extinct there is no chance anyone will ever find fossils of them!

That's what I was trying to point out: the absolutely hysterical reaction to the problems people have created for themselves is simply another push of the same old tired agenda. But we have to go with the best evidence available,” says Kenneth Warner, former dean of the University of Michigan School of Public Health and professor emeritus of public health and professor emeritus of health management and policy. “I believe the case is strong; the benefits outweigh the risks.”

"“Meanwhile, we have a crisis on our hands. Five hundred thousand people are dying each year as a result of smoking. One out of six Americans remain as smokers.”

David Mendez, associate professor of health management and policy, is one of the coauthors of the recent National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine comprehensive review of more than 800 studies on e-cigarettes.

Overall conclusions from the report are that e-cigarettes are not without health risks but are less harmful than conventional cigarettes, and that when used in the place of traditional cigarettes can reduce exposure to many toxicants and carcinogens and reduce adverse health outcomes. However, long-term effects of the products on health remain unclear".

"Though the results of the study show likely net benefits from e-cigarettes, “those benefits represent a small fraction of the enormous harm caused by combustible tobacco,” Mendez says.

The researchers report their findings in the journal Nicotine and Tobacco Research."

I make no bones about it, I hate vaping with a passion... I have had bronchitis and Pneumonia multiple times in the past dont tell me inhaling a mist with a variety of chemicals in it is healthy, and dang sure dont do it around my kid and go... "its not bad for you."

Nope I think both parties suck, there is no proof that vaping is not bad for you and personally I fully expect it to come out that it isn't healthy for you.


At least most smokers I encountered had the decency to ask if I minded, vapers just walk into poorly ventilated areas and expect me not to care that they are blowing that crap at me.

whats driven me to detest it is the attitude if you ask someone to move along or at least dont blow it in my direction, lots of idiots spouting that its not bad for you, and since I have a 1 year old I am more concerned about what he is exposed to while still at such a young developmental stage.
