9/11 anniversary: Trump says day is 'seared into our soul' as nation remembers 18 years later

Trump does what is expected as potus and attends memorials, makes speeches et cetera....

Eighteen years after the Tuesday morning President Trump says "is seared into our soul," the nation paused to solemnly mark the events of the 9/11 terror attacks and the nearly 3,000 people who were lost – but never forgotten. Morning ceremonies were held Wednesday at Ground Zero, the Pentagon, and at the Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville, Pa. And this year is the first time the names of each are being read in the presence of a new, bittersweet section of the 9/11 Memorial -- one honoring the growing list of first responders who've passed away from illnesses diagnosed in the aftermath of the attacks. “For every American who lived through that day, the September 11 attack is seared into our soul," Trump said during a ceremony at the Pentagon. "It was a day filled with shock, horror, sorrow and righteous fury.” He added: “For the families who join us, this is your anniversary of personal and permanent loss. It’s the day that has replayed in your memory a thousand times over: the last kiss, the last phone call, the last time hearing those precious words 'I love you'."

A bit further down something was reported that is, in my opinion, unacceptable.
How this has happened I will never understand.

Yet as this 18th anniversary comes, the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammad, the alleged mastermind, is inching closer. He and four other men will face war crimes charges at the U.S. military base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba beginning in early 2021, a military judge said Friday.

How the hell have the wheels of justice turned so slowly?
Do they think we will just forget?
This is absolutely unacceptable.

Because those who allowed the hijacked airliners to roam about the most heavily defended airspace in the world, apparently, are still around somewhere in the background, within the US government that is

Yeah, I was thinking that as I drove by our neighborhood SAM site this morning.

IMO at this point someone wants them to still be alive.
Your explanation is as plausible as any.

Maybe she "knows something" and isn't sharing it with us.

There are some ideas of Trump waiting for his next term to take on 9/11. It is going to be a big can of worm that will take some time to go through. Also need to clean up the swamp a bit first otherwise any court cases will go down the same path as previous court cases, dismissed with prejudice. Military tribunals are also another option. if Khalid Sheikh Mohammad is to get a fair trail then things will blow up. Without being ready to catch this bomb another miscarriage of justice is a possibility.

I doubt that.
She has proven she actually knows very little.

Even the military is not that slow.

I personally would like to see them put on an out of date airline that is due for decommission, handcuffed in first row coach, and crash that plane right into a mountainside.

But yaddabyadda due process and all. It's just the due process is slower than molasses. He needs to be put to death and his name blackened forever in our world history.

Don't forget Daniel Pearl either. KSM should be dead already.

18 years for an enemy?
not an american citizen, an actual fighting enemy of the state

imo he should have been eliminated long long ago

What should they have done? Shot them down?

They were American commercial flights.
And if you were around and remember, the airways were closed almost as soon as the second plane hit the towers. All flights were grounded and those in the air were ordered to land immediately.

Its not like they flew around for hours seeking targets while the military did nothing.
