A Dementia patient, or a Fake Indian, are the best Democrats can come up with to challenge President Trump in 2020.

I knew there was a reason I put this in the Pit!

You forgot the capitalistic sellout socialist.

I fear the global socialist force behind the democratic party already
having failed a soft coupe. Are just to powerful not to at least be planning
something. Something far from soft this time around. They just don't have
the patience for hold outs and die hards. I hope like hell I'm wrong but
something just doesn't feel right.

yes however the more populous districts are not. It currently has a Governor that is a Democrat (Roy Asberry Cooper III), and usually has about 10 republican reps and 3 democrat reps.
en.wikipedia.org...

as of 2003 it has 13 reps, and has been around the distribution of representatives since then.

Isn’t North Carolina almost always a red state??

The Republican candidate was weak..VERY weak, according to FoxNews. Their analysts feared that Dan Bishop might not prevail.

It looks like they (once again) underestimated the "Trump effect".

Bernie is too honest.. "Everyone will have to sacrifice a few thousand dollars a year to make Universal Healthcare a reality."

No way the crooked/deceitful DNC would allow Sanders to be the nominee! They'll send the same goons to threaten his wife next year, as they did in 2016.

Personally I think Bernie's honesty got misplaced somewhere along the line... probably in a back room of the Clinton Foundation.

The political parties know that people have been influenced by the polls. It used to be that the polls were the way people got information, people who wanted to vote like the majority of people vote, they want to be part of the winning team. That is why they do polls, to convince people to vote for their party candidate, the winning candidate. This is deception, the people running the show know they can fool the masses.

But now with the internet and the ability of people to discuss things online, they cannot fool the masses anymore. This is a new era, the era where truth has a spokesman. Media has always been a salesperson for politics and propaganda, but now, we have other options other than the six thirty national news to learn what is really going on. The deceivers are trying to get control of google and Facebook, they want to be able to control what we are saying to each other. And they are accomplishing it by censorship of anything that they do not want us to see.

The people running the show in the free world are actually getting as bad as in Russia. It is not only the USA, other countries are having problems too. We are not sheep, we are mushrooms.

Well, I will attempt to make excuses for this loss. Nah, that would only be pretending as there is no excuse for it, it's Trump country. So for all those who want to poke and make fun of any excuses that can be made, just make them up yourself and pretend that it was me who made them. I await your barbs and jabs enthusiastically.

???

I have no desire nor intent to poke fun at you or anyone else. I much prefer reasoned debate, when it can be had.

I am curious, though... if this was indeed "Trump country," why would the DNC pump so much money into it and why did the MSM treat it like some sort of bellweather for 2020? Were they unaware that this is "Trump country"?

Even more to the point, polls the day before the election (yesterday) had Bishop and McCready running neck and neck, 44% to 44%. News channels were predicting a long, drawn out election with mandatory recounts. Why were those polls so far off?

Long way to Nov 2020. So much will transpire. Who the DNC ultimately pushes forward will be an interesting process.

I truly believe the DNC mailed 2020 in. The $$ blown on Hillary was staggering. The list of candidates almost feels like a mea culpa to Bernie after him getting slighted in 2016.

The DNC knows the best $$ will be 2024 when Trump is officially gone and the Swamp might return to the norm.

Historic times, no doubt.

They used to have far more democrats. Just looking at the history of their electoral college would tell you this. Up until 1993 North Carolina was heavily democrat in relation to their Representatives, then it started to flip the other way. Comparing the 103rd congress to 114th congress should show a tale of the tape. Going from 8 democrats and 4 republicans to 3 democrats and 10 republicans.

Furthermore since the 103rd congress there have been 4 democrat and 1 republican governor. The republican (Pat McCrory) only served one term of 4 years since 1993. (20 years with a democrat and 4 years with a republican).

It seems like North Carolina is not and was not a Republican stronghold in any time in the near past 24 years.

Their vote wasnt doin much good , so they moved to Georgia and tried again .

The 3rd district is heavily Republican, and didn't have the specter of election fraud hanging over the GOP's head. It was pretty much a give, replacing the old Republican Representative.

The 9th district is considered a toss-up, the Democrats had the ammunition of a previous candidacy for the GOP having people who committed election fraud, and the DNC had several times as long to campaign and millions more in campaign funds compared to the Republicans.

It was like a perfect storm for the Democrats... and they still lost by over 2%.

Everyone appreciates HONESTY...except the Democratic National Committee (DNC). They want to beat President Trump. If Bernie didn't openly talk about what his proposals will cost the taxpayers, he'd have a better chance of being the Party Nominee than Biden or Warren.

It's too late for Bernie, now that the cat is out of the bag. But he should have utilized the same strategy that Obama did when promoting ObamaCare. Talk about what you want, and how consumers will benefit....but never the price.

The entire Solid Democrat South started its turn to the Solid Republican South around 1980, primarily due to Reagan's policies and Carter's failure in Iran. North Carolina was no exception. All of the large urban centers in the South retained a respectable Democratic influence, and that influence has steadily grown as the urban centers have grown.

North Carolina has several of these urban centers: Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte... and they are spread throughout the state instead of being concentrated like, say Atlanta. In addition, North Carolina has a significant coastline, which attracts more liberal people from other states (usually Yankees) who add to the growing liberalism. That makes it one of the easiest states to swing back Democratic. The western part is extremely conservative, as are the rural areas, but the population is heavily concentrated in the more urban and liberal areas.

That's why I find this election telling for 2020. If the Democrats cannot take the easiest state there is in the South to take, with every advantage in the book, well, there's just not a lot of hope nationally for them.
