“We should physically assault those who hold a different political view”

That is the cry of the left today.

Most definitely, fascism.

I don’t hear ‘the right’ EVER calling for that. Nor ANY alt-right or right-wing organisation.

It’s a ‘left’ wing thing.

So government control is not socialism, gotcha. Want to know who else is capitalist, China. That doesn't make them any less socialist.

There are loons on all sides of the spectrum no doubt. But the majority of the left are about equality. Economic equality, racial equality, sexual equality and power equality. The right are essentially about rule of the jungle, survival of the fittest, if you can't keep up well too bad, you a lose, you get less wealth, power, status, privilege. If your born into wealth power and privilege, well good luck to you. The left seek to iron such things out. The accepted definition of fascism boils down to the violent supremacy of the hegemonic power. Survival of the fittest taken to its zenith.

As far as current political violence is concerned. Precisely how many Alt-right mass shootings have their been recently? Christchurch perhaps? Direct links to European fascists. Or is that all a fake news conspiracy?

No.

Leftists want equal outcomes.

Everyone else wants equal opportunity.

Liberals already did that. They took control of academia and anyone with a dissenting opinion is removed. That is not opinion, it's fact.

Liberals want extreme inequality - Check
Liberals want to violently oppress others - Check
Liberals want to control academia and prevent dissenting views in academia - Check

Not quite, liberals want unequal outcomes. They want bad outcomes for anyone who thinks differently, and then guaranteed equal outcomes for themselves.

But liberals have defined fascism as not applying to liberals so it can't! Duh.

It's the same narrow-minded approach that these "intellectuals" have when they say minorities can't be racist.

Why would any intelligent person even bother contemplating whether or not they're going to vote for Trump in 2020 at this stage?

I mean, its still a year away till it even becomes an issue... so why not sit back, then just observe and take note at how this whole tariff war and the economy in general does over the next year, before making a decision?

For the same reason you think about Easter or Christmas when you go to the supermarket at that time of the year, advertising really does work.

Government control does not equal socialism. Socialism is the worker or public ownership of the means of production. Private enterprise for profit does not exist in true socialism. What the US democrats propose is Social Democratic Capitalism. This is not my opinion, it is based on the traditional definitions. I have no clue why some democrats are calling themselves socialists, it puzzles me. What they spout is not socialism. Maybe they need some political science lessons themselves lol.

Then they put up a definition that shows 100% that ANY person or group can be racist while completely ignoring what the definition actually says.

Just like the definition of fascism absolutely shows 100% ANY group can be fascist. Even leftists. Who are most definitely fascists today.

The fact that the definition has a little leftist statement at the end mentioning that fascism is “normally contributed to the right” is meaningless.

Every aspect of the definition describes the left with accuracy.

China is capitalist. That does not preclude them from being socialist. Democrats are pushing guaranteed government job for all. Democrat ideas would put the US government controlling more of the economy than any western country, more than Sweden.

Not to mention their green new deals where they want to completely shut down all forms of energy they do not consider green. Gabbi, who is touted as a moderate, wants to make all fossil fuel, both using and selling illegal. She wants nuclear illegal.

I'm relatively in favor of him. Why not to vote for him: (Disclaimer: Devil's advocate)
1. More conservative federal judges that limit progress. (Not just the Supreme Court, though that is what captures headlines).

Exactly! Judges should not have anything to do with 'progress'. Their purpose is to adjudicate disagreements with respect to the law. Period.

Activist judges should be charged with criminal violation of the public trust.

2. Roe v. Wade

There is no Constitutional authority for the federal government to have anything to say about abortion, either way - unless maybe you want to argue in favor of life under the 'equal protection' clause and/or the 5th amendments prohibition on being deprived of life without due process.

The abortion question is and should be strictly a matter for each State to decide.

3. Climate change.

It happens. It isn't man-made, and if acts of man are contributing to it even in a tiny way, it isn't coming from the US, look to China.

4. Diplomacy with dictators and Taliban. (N. Korea, China, Russia)

Trump's doing a fine job there.

5. Cozier with our allies (NATO).

He is finally making them pay their 'fair share' (to borrow a popular left-wing-nut phrase).

6. End the trade war(s)

Yes! And Trump is well on his way.

So... I thought you were going to give reasons not to vote for him?

The Democratic candidates promise climate action, medicare for all. Various candidates support UBI, racial reparations, more open to immigrants crossing "our borders", nationalization of pharmaceutical companies (or perhaps simply very heavy regulation of prices?). All support strict gun control to some extent varying from no magazines allowed (Biden) to forced buybacks (Beto). To be quite clear assault weapons include pistols and shotguns (not all of the latter, and revolvers are separate).

Trump seems to be the choice. He's quite a Democrat, but he's "right wing" based on current definitions of such a thing like pro-nation state.

It's your vote, use it how you choose. I won't try to talk you out of, or into, voting for any specific candidate. I'm not voting for the guy, but if that ends up being your choice, so be it.

This thread is very telling. Both the arguments for and against.

The "because Democrats" argument notwithstanding, there is yet to be another candidate that agrees with typical American values, even if they dont live by them. I doubt anyone who chooses to pursue politics is.

Why should I not vote for Trump in 2020?

Because this time Pete is an option.

(or more broadly; because this time the alternative isn't Hillary)

This is the problem with this whole scenario. It is a double sided coin. Republicans and democrats are the only options. I want to vote but I can't. The reason being is third parties NEVER win a presidential election. We are told we have a choice ,but there really isn't. It's a lesser of 2 evils instead of someone who stands for the people. There are a ton of Americans who feel the same way but are practically forced to choose a subpar candidate. In the end it doesn't matter who you choose because the money trail decides who wins. I will not vote unless I have strong evidence I have a chance.

Imagine how violent they would become if they ever succeed at removal of second amendment rights.
