No one there prior.
It was almost a deserted area .
There IS no Palestine .
There is only the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
There ARE no Palestinians .
Why do people confuse the PLO term Palestinians for Philistines ?
I guess it messes with their minds that both start with P ?

Perhaps Jews were actually referred to as Palestinians in the early part of the 20th Century.. perhaps... worth looking into I'd suggest.

They could loosely be called "Palestinians"

Yes, Solomon was a jew, of the tribe of judah.
Although, abraham had visited the area known as Jerusalem long before that, where he paid homage to another holy priest, Melchizedek, king of Salem. I imagine, if there was a priest there was a temple of some kind. More than likely, Solomon built his on the site of older temples who built theirs on the site of even older ones and the site of solomon's was at least close to the site his forefather visited so long ago.

A few kings after Solomon though, there was a disagreement between the tribes as to who should be king and the tribes broke up. Judah and Benjamin. I believe became the nation of judah while the other ten were the nation of isreal. Assyria took down isreal first and took the Israelis away in bondage never to be heard from again. While judah fell later to the babylonians and taken away by them in captivity. A later Babylonian king allowed the Jews of judah to return to the land of isreal. By that time, the Jewish religion had adopted some of the babylonian beliefs its believed.
Some also believe the Israelites that were taken by the assyrians ended up in Europe and were the founders of some of the European countries or at least left their mark.
So, if I were to take a guess, the Jews that were in Palestine at the turn of the 20th century were predominately descendants from the tribe of judah and Benjamin. While if the tribes that made up isreal did migrate into Europe and manage to hold their identity as Israelites, holding the beliefs of their forefathers, they were the European jews that began populating Palestine in the 20th century. I would also guess that although the two groups would have similar beliefs and customs, there would be some noticeable differences between the two.

Umm.. I collected stamps as a kid.. why did a deserted land need postage stamps???
I've also seen old photos of Palestine, there on the internet, go look for yourself. Seems to be alot of people there pre WW2.

Look again .
It was called "The Palestinian Territories" in modern day terminology .
Never was a country whatsoever.

Most likely post 50s , and actually named "The Palestinian Territories"
Still , the aforementioned territories are The Gaza Strip , and The West Bank which make up the "Palestinian Territories" as granted by the UN and the UK and ceded by Israel.
Do you know why those 2 territories were the ones given to the Canaanites ?

Now , if you want to call the entire area Canaan , as the Bible and the Quran (sort of) call it , that is a different matter .
But , still no Palestine.

Learn World History .

And, who lived in the Palestinian territories? Could they not be referred to Palestinians? I mean, someone lived there pre-isreal. It wasn't uninhabited like you seem to want me to believe, and it wasn't just inhabited by British armed military troops. They had women, children, schools, markets...
And no. I am not confusing the philistines for the palestinians.. heck, the philistines were probably wiped out long ago by Joshua and his merry men..
