"The vote, which is expected to occur on Wednesday, will lay out the ground rules for conducting hearings now that the committee has publicly announced it is considering recommending articles of impeachment against Trump," CNN reported. "It is expected to follow the precedent set in 1974 over the committee's procedures during then-President Richard Nixon's impeachment proceedings."

My guess is they're just doing it to win brownie points from their base. Otherwise, there wouldn't be much point in trying to impeach him this late in his term. Especially if they were to actually succeed. Then they would be left running against Mike Pence. Who doesn't look as much like a villain to most people as Trump does and is actually not an obnoxious, annoying blowhard like Trump. Which is much harder to demonize to a liberal mind.

Pence is more like a really soft Reagan (though he doesn't really have a fraction of the charisma). The Democrats certainly do not (should not) want to have to try and win an election against someone like Pence. They are much better off running against Trump, assuming they pick a better candidate than Joe Biden. Which I assume they will.

If they had any legal grounds, it would have been done already. When will the citizens see through this hate # show that calls themselves a political party?

My impression is that one party is trying to run the country and the other one is hell bent on destroying it on their way to get a grip of power.

Seeing unhinged people like AOC being supported by the democratic party makes me shake my head. Why is this person even getting airtime?

In case you haven’t heard, Trump was already loaded before he was elected.

I often make the mistake that people in Washington are somehow smarter than the rest of us and must have some ulterior motive or plan, but continued moves like these just illustrate how dumb they actually are!
