Okay I'm done hitting my head against the wall for today.

They are serving cookies in the day room if you hurry.

Using children as scapegoats?

You obviously do not know the meaning of the word scapegoat.

This thread is about the IG report on the children who have been detained and separated from their parents.
This is the IG report.... from trumps people.
(PDF link)
oig.hhs.gov...

No one is asking you to take care of anyones children. ( as if)
The point is that the parents were there to take care of their own children until the assholes took them away.

Yeah, you are right, nobody is "asking" me to take care of criminal's children, I'm being forced to by a retarded socialist agenda.

It's quite simple, if you love your children you can keep your children. (Providing you don't break laws that cause you to lose them)

If things are so bad for these people, why aren't they rising up and making change in their own country instead of hopping on trains to run to America where they heard they can get all the freebies they want. You can sit here with your bleeding heart crying about children from another country, yet at the same time you probably don't even acknowledge the starving and dying children already here.

You are just a hypocrite. Socialism sucks, stop trying to ram it down our throats.

A deterrent. The cruelty is the point.

The STUPIDITY is the point. Don't come to my house uninvited unless you want a punch in the face for trespass.

And don't then charge me with punching you in the face.

god, it's like you lot NEVER listen...

In this case, very briefly, because the actual list is too long for this thread...

~Detaining migrant children longer than legal.
~Keeping them in unsafe and unsanitary conditions, as required by law.
~Not having a process in place to reunification of the children with families, losing 1000s of children in the system, some of whom will never be reunited with their parents.
~Sending asylum seekers back to Mexico, whom we do not have a "safe country" treaty with, to await their case.

There's just a few.

Still waiting for that link.

Till then, I'll just leave this here.

www.newsweek.com...

Several former Obama administration officials took to social media and news outlets last month to explain a gallery of years-old photos that showed immigrant children sleeping in shoddy conditions at a government-run holding facility in Arizona.

The images, which the Associated Press first published in 2014, resurfaced recently for reasons that remain unclear, and quickly prompted viral outrage on Twitter. One particularly disturbing image showed two children sleeping on mattresses on the floor inside what appeared to be a cage.

A number of prominent liberals — and even a former Obama administration official — shared the photos, mistakenly believing they depicted the Trump administration's treatment of immigrant children who were forcibly separated from their parents.

Do you ever get tired of being wrong....or are you just willfully ignorant ?

It's not the job of the people manning the borders to determine whether or not a person's asylum petition is valid.

So these people that are simply looking for a better life for their children should either leave their children behind in the "#hole" country they're fleeing or send the child off on their own?

Go through the right channels, not much separation to be had.

But I know, I'm owed everything so I will just demand it.

Seeking asylum is a legal method of immigration. Why do you guys keep ignoring that fact?

Why does ATS continue to cater to you and why do you even come here, being your opinions are a vast 180 from everyone here? What is your agenda? We know we can't convince you of where the facts lead, you know you cannot convince us of your opinions. Waste of time! Respectfully.

Not every single person that hops our borders have valid asylum claims. Why is it that Americans must follow laws but not foreigners in OUR country?

I know.
Its heartbreaking that no one cares about the children.
Only about defending the child abuser in chief.

Here we go again.

Rah rah rah wait for the cheerleaders to start chiming in.

So, in order to subvert the actual way to do things, I mean bypass all that horrible paperwork and asking and necessity, we just accept people going about things the entirely wrong way, and they scream "what about the childen!!!!"

Common sense dictates that if you believe all of the "migrants" that show up should be granted asylum, you must be in agreement with an open border policy.

Doing it within the law is, yes.

Swimming across a river or climbing a fence isn’t.

Because the US has a vested interest in keeping these countries destabilized. Anytime it looks like progress might be made, suddenly a US backed regime change/civil war occurs. A large reason that these countries are in the state that they are is due to US meddling.

And you want to tell me that we as a country have no responsibility to help the people from these countries that we have destroyed?

“You guys.” Lol. I’m not the one being a partisan hack here, bud. You’re handling that one on your own.

There’s a way to claim asylum and a way not to. It doesn’t apply to everybody. We can’t just change the terminology to suit your political agenda and pretend that every immigrant at the southern border is an asylum seeker.

It'll be enough when the wall is built and we have stronger laws in place that keep illegals out of the country. They want to be welcomed like the other immigrants then they need to come here the right way like the others did. You must not like the immigrants who come here legally. Those waiting in line are the ones getting #ed by the illegals. Or lemme guess, you don't standing in line all day for one ride while people keep cutting in line in front of you.
