I did post on Crowder's wall to invite Tulsi to participate in his next live stream since she is not gonna be a participant.
Why would one in the last presidential election run a proven loser which most did not want/despised so much they voted for a socialist like Bernie, now is instead of going with the most googed, most likely to win Trump voters back, is pushing for a Biden (lol wtf) Harris (seriously wtf) race? Let's run the most undesirable candidates possible and not the only one who has a shot at actually winning DNC logic is tragic. It is like they want Trump to win. That alone makes me skeptical. If he actually does "lock her up" he will get my vote, if not gonna vote for Jill (if she runs again) or write in Tulsi as protest. Clock is ticking for Trump to fulfill his only campaign promise that would fully convert me.

Who cares if Trump is not a meteorologist? No "Orange Tropical Storm" jokes to follow your frustration? Probably because its not his job and you know it. When a homeland emergency happens you should expect Pete Gaynor to take charge since he is in charge of FEMA. And if you dont like how he performs then take it up with Kevin McAleenan, the acting director of homeland security.

Does it even really matter if Trump claims he never heard of a Cat 5 Hurricane before?
Just as long as FEMA knows what the # it is.

I didnt even start reading the rest of the thread before I responded to OP. Glad to see a post on the first page pointing out that it's not Trump's responsibility to manage a homeland weather crisis. Hopefully one day, together, we can educate these libs enough to start thinking for themselves.

Are you asking for a list of where I get news?

Yes msnbc, and NPR and The New York Times. ( not the failing one the other one)
I get news from the BBC and The Washington Post.
Online I like Buzzfeed, the Atlantic. Theres more you sure you really want to know?
?

And you participate in a site where we’re supposed to be denying ignorance?

Irony much?

You need to be a meteorologist to know there are category 5 hurricanes now, next you'll say you need to be a podiatrist to know of that people have feet..

This thread was removed from the Political Madness Forum and placed in the trash bin.

I was invited to re-post the thread here in the Mud Pit apparently due to it being considered Mud Pit Material.

[snipped]

You see, millions of Americans are bracing for what could end up being the worst hurricane in recorded history. With this disaster looming, and after being briefed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the man at the helm of the nation had this comment to make about it.

"I'm not sure that I've ever even heard of a Category 5. I knew it existed," he said during a Federal Emergency Management Administration briefing, adding: "But a Category 5 is something that — I don't know that I've ever even heard the term other than I know it's there."

www.businessinsider.com...
www.newsweek.com...

The fact that there have been 4 that have threatened the US since he took office including Irma, Micheal and Maria seems to have escaped his awareness.
Anyone else here remember those? Apparently by his own statements, Mr. President, does not.

Making matters worse there was this Presidential Statement in 2017

Trump made a similar comment in 2017, saying of Hurricane Irma at the White House Historical Association dinner that “I never even knew a Category 5 existed.”

www.bloomberg.com...

Here we have the President of the United States, the head honcho in times of crisis that directly threatens millions of Americans and he can only repeat a statement of personal ignorance he stated two years before.

His catalogue of Faux Pas, leave little room in the Encyclopedia Britannica for salient Presidential dictum of other more worthy Presidents....next....

On second thoughts, the reason the thread was bucked into the mud-pit is likely that the syndrome doesn't exist..yet!

A bit late in the thread, but yes on the blizzards, yes on the volcanic eruptions, and waterspouts share the same EF scale that a Tornado does.

Did I know any of this before looking into this post? Aside from the waterspouts, because I have an interest in studying tornadic weather, I had no clue about the other two. I wouldn't expect the president to know any of these either, what I do expect is that he has people working for him that are intimately familiar with these topics. The worst he did was make an uninformed comment, much like every other president before, and every president after has or will do.

For once, I haven't read the whole thread. Too long, and what I have to say will only take a moment.

Donald Trump grew up in New York. Does anyone know how many hurricanes they get in New York? ZERO! So to expect him to know much about them is utterly (udderly) inane. Cat 5s are rare anyway, sorta like F-5 tornadoes.

I know about hurricanes because we get rain off of them every time one hits anywhere along the Gulf coast or Atlantic seaboard. But would I know what to do in a hurricane? No! They don't get this far inland. Ask me about how to survive a tornado and I got that one covered.

I don't know much about volcanoes. Not many around here (zero, actually). Same with earthquakes. Is there such a thing as a 9.0? I guess there is, but I've never heard of one that I remember. Maybe I did, but the scale means nothing to me personally, so it's possible I just filed that memory away under "damn big earthquake." Hell, I spent months contributing to the Fukushima thread, but right now I can't remember how big it actually was... it's in that same memory drawer, though: "damn big earthquake."

It does not matter one bit to me if Trump remembers hearing about a Cat 5 or if he even knows what a Cat 5 is. What does matter is how he gets the response teams down there to clean up the mess. Let me know when he screws that up and I might give a damn. From my understanding, he is offering full Federal support and already has the coast set for emergency response.

I don't know... there's just something so... wrong... about this. Hurricane Dorian is still removing the Bahamas from existence, and creeping towards Florida. If it follows the expected course, it is going to drench Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and likely hit the barrier islands off North Carolina. If not, it is liable to hit the mainland somewhere and tear up a lot of stuff. There will likely be millions upon millions of dollars of damage and possibly some deaths of American citizens (I am waiting to see how many there are in the Bahamas with dread). And we are discussing whether or not Trump remembers a Cat 5 hurricane while he was living in New York? Really?

Sorry, I can't do that. I have to sleep with myself.

Low-esteem losers who are anti-America start threads like this. They eventually self-destruct. In this case, it will be on or before November 3, 2020. Hopefully, BEFORE.

Like I posted earlier, I grew up in Boston. In that area we just call them all Nor'easters. I am sure at some point they used category X on the news, but it never stuck with me.

I might be aware of the term category 5, but i certainly could not tell you what each category means without looking it up. Im also not a seismologist in case you were wondering, and despite knowing that the Richter scale exists i cannot tell you what it means or even where all the fault lines are. If you want to discuss polymorphism in software, im your guy.

This thread really is an embarrassment for the deranged Leftists.
But we all know that they are not capable of feeling any embarrassment with all their hysterics and virtue signaling we have seen since Trump was elected.
At some point you would think that they would say “Wow....is that really how we act and who we want to be?”
I have been popping into this thread on and off since it was started, and I am embarrassed for them.

Not to sound like a jerk because I mostly agree with you but didnt the tail end of a hurricane sweep up into new york only within the last 3 years? I doubt its a common occurrence but i seem to recall one driving that far up the coast.

That's pathetic,

It took a fortnight for him to visit Puerto Rico, video already posted, just to give a put down to those people...what an asshole he really is.
