The BBC Parliament channel, for those who can get it, should have some interesting drama in the next few days.
Even if it turns out to be the slow-building drama of a cricket match.

They exist to gain power, tories know if they don't deliver Brexit then they will get decimated in the polls. They will do whatever they think they should do to get power. The polls are way in favour of Johnson right now, they would storm a general election. So I don't see anyone from the Conservative party arguing if MPs are deselected.

Which is why Britains arch enemy and EU sycophant Tony Blair is warning the Labour party against a General Election.. he knows they are viewed as traitors all over the country.

Even with the Brexit party, the Tories are set for a 28 seat majority accrding to the latest poll... and if Boris does a deal with The Brexit Party, we could be looking at a whopping 80+ seat majority.

His game plan is basically to scare his MPs into voting with the government otherwise he will deselect them and call a general election.

thats it in a very complicated nutshell.

Pretty sure it isn't within his authority to deselect them. Pushing that risks major fights with constituency groups.

He can have them expelled from the party, leaving them unable to stand in any election for the Conservative Party. They will stay as MP's, until they are ousted in a General Election by the new Conservative representatives.

It's my understanding from reading further if there is a vote of no confidence then it starts a 14 day countdown. Within that time if Boris doesn't turn around the vote then it triggers a 25 working days countdown.

That's working days not calendar days.

So, by my calculation even if he gets a no confidence vote tomorrow that conceivably runs the clock to Oct 21.

Not sure how the Prorogation of Parliament factors into this countdown.

Of late, cricket matches involving England have not been a slow drama!

World cup final followed by the last Ashes Test.

OK, but we still need a metaphor to describe the more subtle drama where the implied result of what has just happened isn't obvious in the way that it happened.

No. Boris could not find his way out of a paper bag. But Dominic Cummings is playing 4-d chess.

It's because he wants out, end of..any mess left behind would be irrelevant.

Leaving aside the hypocrisy of him doing that given he voted against May's deal, doing so would risk a massive internal fight involving both MPs and constituency parties while trying to win a general election.

Even a member of his own cabinet has warned against that course of action.

So i take it the Boris Series has eclipsed the Trump Show at this point?

It's the same fight conducted in the same style on both sides of the fence. Unorthodox leader, desperate and ingenious opposition. Remainers identify with anti-Trump, even to the point of making charges about "Russian military". Democrats identify with Remain to the point of threatening to veto any Trump trade deal with a Brexit Britain. They are two fronts of the same war.
