Trump meant to send it to Putin but tweeted it instead.

He was in tweet mode at the time.

Except U.F.O. docs far above his " Sorry Mr. Pres, but you don't have a high enough clearance" level.

Did they?

Or was this trump going rogue?

He makes decisions on the fly all the time.
Yes, they did.

He does make decisions on the fly, I don't dispute that and is one of his defining features, however it is what is it, you're just being daft because you don't like Trump.

I don't see that it does any damage. As you have pointed it out it looks like a picture from a projection on a wall. Do you think they allow cameras and pictures being taken in a SCIF?

It is convenient that this is the story and not who actually destroyed the missile.

Unnamed sources have traced this photo backed to Hillary’s server.....So clearly it’s not classified

So anyone got any way to show how this is a classified photo? Or does an expert opinion on how its "almost certainly" classified enough proof?
I can wait..

Yes! This is what I have been saying. Everyone is focusing on the res of this pic and not questioning the missile malfunction. Gotta look deeper folks.

Gee, I wonder why the president has the ability to classify or declassify anything he wants?

In fact the president has the power to make anything declassified, just for occasions like this.

Absolutely not for tweeting a classified picture then declasifying. I will be the first to say he's an idiot if he did that.

Is it a classified pic tho? Or just an opinion by an expert in an article?

Whether information is classified or otherwise restricted is considered part of the president’s constitutional powers as commander in chief. Classified information is not established nor regulated by congressional statutes but rather various Executive Orders.

Trump has the Constitutional power to declassify or disclose anything he wants.

Edit to Add that nothing is classified until a government body deems it so anyway.

Perhaps the military commanders at the pentagon should be more careful in the future in how they brief trump.

The POTUS is Commander in Chief. He outranks every single military commander. There is nothing they can see that he can't.

Yes, the POTUS should be cognizant of the sensitivity of information given to him but he can do what he pleases.

As someone else pointed out and I already explained, this photo appears to be a photo taken with a camera-with-flash of something projected on a wall. Rooms where sensitive information is shared are called SCIFs and these rooms typically don't allow an photography or recording devices. So either this was purposely shared with some Propaganda intent or it was not delivered under SCIF procedures to begin with.

Why is it assumed that demonstrating your military might from time to time is a bad thing?

Have we had any incidents yet?
Because last I checked we have actually avoided a couple proxy wars thanks to Trump.

That image is far more damaging to Iran than America. Only an idiot would think it has any negative impact on America or Trump. He's the commander and chief if he thinks the American public needs to see it. That's for him to decide. Not a bunch of perpetually outraged peons on the internet to decide.

I also don't like the idea of some non-elected stars and bars vetting what information a duly elected President is given nor what is diplomatically prudent to release or not.

It's amazing what Trump's sheep will give him a pass for. He takes what has to absolutely be a confidential report, takes a literal picture with his cell phone (you can even see his shadow of him taking the picture), and tweets it. And you folks are SERIOUSLY OK with it?! WOW!

Why would you tip off other countries of your capabilities? Well, no sane President would. But a childish braggart who must show off apparently does have to. It's why he wanted a parade. There is no deep reason behind his "clever manipulations" of other countries - he just wanted to say "Not us, but hey, look what we can do!" What a moron. And you folks act like it's NOTHING. What will he take a picture of (on probably his personal phone, which is non-secure as all get-out) next?

Just because you CAN do something, be it declassify something, or anything else, doesn't mean you SHOULD do something. There is no benefit for this sort of braggadocio. It's hilarious to see his supporters try to bend reality to make it seem like something like this is a smart ploy by the POTUS.

Why do you assume the picture is a representation of full US military capabilities?

It futile with Trump's faithful.

If Obama did something like this they would be having a fit.
