The only thing good about the US system is nobody has all the power. Politicians, for all their chest beating (to include Trump) are relatively weak. They talk a lot of crap but can't deliver the majority of it.

Look at Bernie, he's been on this socialists rant for 40 years and achieved none of it. He's only got two or three bills apprroved, two of which are names of post offices. He did however achieve becoming a millionaire and owning a few houses.
People though really, really, really believe he can do all this magic if elected. He won't do any of it. He might get a couple of things but he will have to compromise so it will be a wash.

Same for everyone else. Best thing voters can do is vote for lower taxes and keep their money.

I agree. It's been a long time and the swamp is just as full as ever. It looks like all Trump's campaign promises are turning out to be just artwork for getting elected.

Bernie is great!

The problem is not socialism. The problem is lobbyists. The lobbyist owned by the billionaires force the politicians to pass laws creating cartels and monopolies in exchange for campaign financing.

Voting doesn't matter. In the last 19 years it doesn't matter which party runs the executive branch. Lobbyists define domestic policies and the CFR defines foreign policies. Both parties have exactly the SAME domestic and foreign policies!

Here's a great interview with Bernie. He really wants to bunch the corporations in the gut:

The problem is the REAL owners of this country do not want Bernie. And "there's a reason":

Nothing is going to change. It doesn't matter who gets elected. The billionaires got their tax cut and the Trump administration gutted numerous consumer protection laws because they were costing the billionaires money. The swamp is just as full as ever. The gap between rich and poor continues to increase. Wealth inequality is at insane levels.

At some point, people are just not going to go to work for hyper inflated prices and cheap Chinese goods. I am really surprised there are not more riots in this country about food and energy prices. Maybe it is suppressed by the so called "leftist" media which is all owned by ultra right wing Republicans.

Trump just tweeted about Comey, Saying that the only reason he wasn't prosecuted was because AG Barr is a fair and reasonable AG, but that all others and experts would have prosecuted Comey.

"Comey got lucky!" (Trump et al)

He tweeted right after,

Bryan dean wright, former CIA(Dem): We had a coup in 2016. We have to take Comey and others to task. Makes no sense not to prosecute him. Comey got a book deal. I fear for my Country. He tried to kneecap our duly elected President

Like I said, Barr didn't prosecute, Trump respects the decision, but posits that others would.
Folks, they've been officially OUTED and EXPOSED.

Special day actually, I feel good.

Even JFK warned us about them. He bucked their system and was publicly executed for it.

we've fallen so far from what we once were. As others have mentioned, the only way to change the system is to break the system.

If even one or two counties in a state decided to stop paying their taxes, stop government work and instead went back to a barter styled society/simply looked out for one another, then the sea's of big gov. would churn. It would take less than a month.

There would be two options. One would result in nationwide protests akin to what we're seeing in Hong Kong. The other would be for them to finally listen to us, the people.

Either way, they lose in the long run.

America deserves what is coming.....WAR. WAR on its native ground and I will be NO part of it. It did not have to come to this but it cannot be stopped. Anyone who does not now see this needs to take off their rose colored glasses and see the truth.

LOL! So, if war is the only solution and you don't want to be a part of it, what does that make you?

For you to state that it didn't have to come to this, what exactly did you think could have stopped it before it got this far?! Something tells me your rose colored glasses are part of what made you think this could have been avoided. We don't get to pick our federal justice or intelligence workers.

Personally I think it's going to take hindsight for people to realize that Trump panders just like every other president we had. I was extremely skeptical of him promising the moon to his base while he was campaigning, and personally given the alternative (status quo establishment), I was willing to take the gamble.

But he used strong rhetoric and still does at his rallies. The more his term unfolds, it just appears he's a mediocre president... Not horrible, not great.

Not to drone on, but I think he's a showman who saw how Obama captivated his base, and he's doing the same.

It's time for people to wake up and realize that no president can take decades of corruption and turn it around all on their own. Not even a few good appointed people are going to help either. It literally would take cleaning out our entire government and that's not going to happen overnight. However, I have read that the Trump administration is planning on restructuring certain departments (DHS, intelligence, etc.) to try and bring them closer to where they need to be.

The whole issue in Government or even religion, is people expecting an outside savior. This all could be turned around in a day, IF people cared enough to put an end to it.

The issue is people thinking they can save themselves. Your thought that this could turn around in a day is laughable. Hasn't history taught you anything? It takes something bigger and more powerful than humans to put an end to evil. We may be able to push back once in a while, but it's not possible for us to eradicate it.

I keep seeing these threads, but what else do you want Trump to do. He calls it out and has pulled the curtain back for all to see the corrupt actions of the government.

Everyone used to rail on about the Fed. Trump calls out the Fed and he's a dictator.

He calls out injustice and is investigated for obstruction.

He's damned if he does and he's damned if he doesn't, so I don't blame him.

He is definitely still getting my vote because not one other president in my lifetime has brought jobs back to my area of the country or prevented the government from ripping me off with programs like Obamacare. Let me know when you find that person.

So the solution is to lie down and take it? That happened in WWII and the results would mirror those if we all just decided to lie down and take it.

A revision of an old poem

First they came for the racists
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a racist

Then they came for facists
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a facist

Then they came for "white" people who love the country
and I didn't speak up because I loathe the country

They they came for Trump voters
and I didn't speak up because I didn't vote for Trump

Then they came for the Jews
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew

Then they came for the Christians
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Christian

Then they came for me,
by that time
there was no one left to speak up for me.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Lie down and let the deep state win and the entire world will become a hell hole of totalitarian socialism designed to keep the powerful fat and living the high life; while the rest of humanity becomes lower lower middle class drones who are psychologically manipulated minions. The drones of the powerful will be conditioned to think the powerful are benevolent and yet live in fear of crossing them. Is this really the life you want for your grandchildren and great-grandchildren?

Isn't it about time the "silenced" (out of fear of being called every ist/ism in the book) rise up and say NO MORE!

At least Trump is trying, he is not a God, he is not all powerful, he too must fight against the daily attacks and lies. Give it more time. Don't give up, we don't need to live in either "1984" (the book) - or the more passive "The Giver" (the book)

I'm aware of that, hence why I was skeptical of Trump and all of his grand promises. If he doesn't fulfill said promises, I'll call him out on it, that's how this works.

As I said before, he's not horrible, he's not great.

TRUMP selected FBI director WRAY and look what he is doing.... fighting the U.S. government investigations by not releasing documents. He is protecting the FBI and its agents NOT the American people.

Trump's not a politician or a previous intelligence agent. He relies on his advisors to help him make picks and his White House Counsel, Don McGahn, is the one who recommended Wray. Blame more of these long time administration workers that need to be fired altogether. The question is, who recommended McGahn?

Everything's a learning process. How many of us thought the Deep State was going to go to the lengths they have to keep any of Trump's promises from being fulfilled? Never in a million years did I expect that the Democrats would refuse a border wall just because Trump promised one. The Democrats will pay dearly for their excessive "resistance" that lacks all common sense. I'm sure Trump didn't expect this level of resistance either.

Don't give up... we just need to change tactics. Specifically, we need to recognize and understand that no one is going to save us but ourselves. It's not about electing the "right" person or the "best" person or the "lesser of two evil" persons. It's about taking the damn power back for the people!!!

And the only way to do so is to refuse to play. To just say no. Civil disobedience. Unless and until OUR demands are met.

I have suggested many many times that we do two things: 1 -- National strike and 2 -- Contract for America.

A national strike wouldn't mean going anywhere or protesting anyone or anything or marching anywhere. It means doing nothing and spending nothing. Not going to work, not shopping, not traveling, not using utilities... in other words, not spending a red cent and not contributing to the deep pockets of corporations and not generating tax revenue for government coffers.

A Contract For America would consist of specific demands (all of which would either limit government powers over the people and/or directly empower the people) upon all candidates for office, which they either agree to introduce and vote for in their respective office, or they don't get our votes.

As more and more people -- just like you -- understand that they're all rotten to the core and that WE THE PEOPLE are our greatest (and only) hope, our chances for the future improve exponentially.

I just hope we don't have to hit absolute rock bottom first.

...You realize that she was guilty of prosecutable actions, right? But that leaking liar Comey declined to prosecute her.

Not a hill worth dying BS ring a bell???

Also, I love how you casually laugh at the fact of real world crimes and not "locking her up" for it.

But I forget, Orange Man Bad, so who cares about justice, right?

That, You, is the joke here 👆😐👎
